1 Cruretor Ajustments INITIAL STARTING ADJUSTMENT Turn ile mixture srew in (lokwise) until it sets LIGHT- LY--then k-off (eh ruretor) 1-1/4 turns. IDLE SEED ADJUSTMENT 1. Ajust engine ile RPM s outline in Setion 2C Timing/Synhronizing/Ajusting. CARBURETOR FLOAT ADJUSTMENT 1. Remove ruretor s outline in Cruretor Removl, following. 2. Remove fuel owl n gsket n hek flot level using ruretor sle. 3. If neessry, just flot level y ening metl t (on flot) to whih inlet neele is lippe. 9/16 (14.3mm) IDLE MIXTURE SCREW ADJUSTMENT 1. Strt engine n llow to wrm-up. Throttle k engine to ile for out one minute. 2. With engine running t ile spee in Forwr ger -- turn ile mixture srew IN (lokwise) until engine strts to og own n misfire. Bk out 1/4 turn or more. - Metl T - Inlet Neele MAIN (HIGH SPEED) JET ADJUSTMENT The ruretor hs fixe high spee jet. Extreme hnges in wether (temperture n humiity) n/or elevtion my result in too len or rih fuel mixture t wieopen-throttle, whih my require hnge in the high spee jet. A smller size min jet will len the fuel mixture, n lrger size jet will enrih the fuel mixture Ile Mixture Srew (on eh ruretor) 3. Chek for too len mixture on elertion. 4. Cruretor Disssemly Remove fuel owl Fuel Bowl Remove flot pin n remove flot. Remove fuel owl gsket Attenutor Srew (4) - Cruretor Srew (6) Flot Pin - Flot - Gsket FUEL SYSTEMS - 3A-13

4 Remove fuel inlet neele. Remove stem gsket. Remove min jet plug n gsket. Remove min jet. - Fuel Inlet Neele - Stem Gsket Remove mixing hmer over n gsket. Remove ile mixture srew. Remove owl vent jet - Min Jet Plug n Gsket - Min Jet NOTE: It is not neessry to isssemle ruretor eyon this point for lening. Exmine throttle shft for wer n inspet for mge throttle shutter plte. If removl of throttle shft n/or throttle shutter plte is neessry, remove 2 srews, whih seure throttle shutter plte to throttle shft. Remove retining lip from en of throttle shft, then pull shft out of ruretor. - Mixing Chmer Cover n Gsket - Ile Mixture Srew - Bowl Vent Jet - Throttle Shft - Srew (2) - Throttle Shft Spring A-14 - FUEL SYSTEMS

5 Clening n Inspetion 1. Crefully inspet ruretor oy n fuel owl for rks, strippe thres, plugge or restrite pssges n pssge plugs tht show signs of lekge. 2. Thoroughly len ll ruretor prts with mil lening solution (tht will not mge ruer or plsti) to remove irt, n vrnish tht my hve umulte. 3. After wshing prts, low prts ry with ompresse ir. Be sure to low ir thru ll pssges, orifies n nozzles. 4. Chek flot hinge in the flot pin re for wer n hek flot for leks. Reple prts s neessry. 5. Exmine inlet neele for wer. If worn, reple with new inlet neele. Spring tension on stu Cruretor Ressemly If remove, instll throttle shft, throttle shutter plte, 2 srews (use Lotite Gre A ), n throttle shft spring s shown. Instll retining lip on other en of shft. - Spring - Stu Instll mixing hmer over n gsket s shown. Instll ile mixture srew. Instll owl vent jet Throttle Shft - Srews (2) (Torque 6 l. in. (0.7 N m) - Throttle Shft Spring - Mixing Chmer Cover n Gsket - Ile Mixture Srew - Bowl Vent Jet - Srew (2) Torque 18 l. in. (2.1 N m) FUEL SYSTEMS - 3A-15
