1 The Network License (concurrent-user) version of e-dpp hs hrdwre key plugged to the computer running the License Mnger softwre. In the e-dpp terminology, this computer is clled the License Mnger Server. The License Mnger is windows progrm tht provides licensing to simultneous users in Locl Are Network tht communicte through TCP/IP protocol. It llows users to operte e-dpp softwre on network worksttion running under windows operting systems. The e-dpp security key hrdwre is USB or Prllel pork connected device. The License Mnger Server is the computer where the License Mnger softwre is instlled. It is lso where the USB security hrdwre key is plugged. The License Mnger runs on ny computer on the network, it is not needed to run it on dedicted server. 2. The client worksttion is the computer where the e-dpp progrm is instlled. 3. e-dpp progrm my e instlled lso on the License Mnger Server. Contents I. 2 System Requirements Operting Systems Computer Peripherl User Account Locl Are Network : Windows XP Professionl (SP2 or higher) Windows Vist (Business or Ultimte) Windows 7(Professionl or Ultimte) Windows Server 2003 (SP1 or higher) : USB or Prllel Port, CD ROM : With Administrtor privilege : TCP/IP sed communiction protocol I. License Mnger Instlltion (License Mnger Server) Instlltion & Setup The instlltion process comprises of the following generl steps: Notes: A) License Mnger Softwre Instlltion B) Running the License Mnger service C) Server Monitor Opertion ) Not pplicle for the Demo version of e-dpp. ) For Windows Vist nd Windows 7 operting systems, the User Account Control must e turned off prior to the instlltion y doing the following: For Windows Vist: i. Select Strt Control Pnel from the windows tskr. ii. On the Control Pnel pplet, click User Accounts icon. iii. On the Mke chnges to your user ccount view, click Turn User Account Control on or off option. iv. On the Turn on User Account Control (UAC) top mke your computer more secure view, uncheck Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer option nd click OK utton. For Windows 7: i. Select Strt Control Pnel from the windows tskr. ii. On the Control Pnel pplet, click User Accounts icon. iii. On the Mke chnges to your user ccount view, click Chnge User Account Control Settings option. iv. On the User Account Control Settings view, djust the slider to Never notify nd click OK utton. 2 of 13

3 A) License Mnger Softwre Instlltion 1) Insert the e-dpp Instlltion CD into the CD Drive of the Server PC. The instller progrm will uto-strt. If the instller progrm does not uto-strt, rowse the CD, locte nd doule click edppinstller.exe 2) On the e-dpp Instll Menu min dilog ox, click Instll License Mnger utton. 3) On WIBU-KEY Set-up dilog ox, click the Next utton. 3 of 13

4 4) Do the following on the susequent dilog ox:. Check dditionl lnguge s necessry.. Click the Next utton. 5) Click Next to continue. 6) Click Yes on the succeeding dilog to confirm cretion of the folder. 7) On the succeeding dilog ox, do the following: (See imge on the next pge). Check the following options: 32 it WkNet/WkLAN Network Server Instll s NT service with utostrt WkLAN/WkNet Network Monitor [32 it]. Click Next to continue. 4 of 13

5 8) Click Next to instll the components. 9) Click Next to proceed. 5 of 13

6 10) Click Finish 11) Click OK to confirm successful instlltion. 12) Insert the e-dpp USB key. Generlly, Windows will utomticlly detect USB key upon insertion to the USB hu. B) Running the License Mnger Service 1) Select [Strt] [All Progrms] [WIBU-KEY] [Network Server]. 2) Network Server icon will e displyed on the Tskr Notifiction Are. Right-click on it nd select Strt s Service 2 Notes: i. Ech computer running e-dpp (users) requests uthoriztion from the License Mnger Server. If the License Mnger is not running, e-dpp will not run. ii. If the USB key is disconnected nd re-connected from the License Mnger Server, the License Mnger Service should e re-strted. 6 of 13

7 C) Server Monitor Progrm Opertion Server Monitor is the min tool to dminister USB key network license in network environment. From the Server Monitor, the numer of users currently ccessing License Mnger server, the login times nd ccess times cn e checked. Users cn e cnceled nd network server sttus informtion cn e retrieved. 1. To run the Server Monitor Progrm:. Select Strt All Progrm WIBU-KEY Server Monitor. 2. To View the List of Users:. From the min dilog ox of Server Monitor Progrm, select [View] menu [User View].. Select [View] menu [Browse Network] or click icon. Notes: i. Users my e viewed only once they re running e-dpp t the client worksttion. ii. To utomticlly rowse the network t strtup of the System Monitor progrm, from the min menu select Options Generl Settings nd check Browse network t strtup option. 7 of 13

8 3. To Cncel User :. View the list of users ccording to step 2.. On the left pne (WIBU-KEY User List:), select the user s computer nme. Note: On the right pne (WIBU-KEY Client Informtion) shows the relevnt user s informtion. c. On the min menu select [User] [Cncel User] or click icon on the toolr. c d. Click Yes to confirm cncelltion of user. e. Click OK utton. 8 of 13

Driver Instlltion & Setup (Client Worksttion) Instlltion & Setup The instlltion process comprises of the following generl steps: A) Drivers Instlltion for the USB License Key Hrdwre B) Client Worksttion License Configurtion A) Drivers Instlltion for the USB License Key Hrdwre 1) Insert e-dpp Instlltion CD into the CD Drive of the Client worksttion. The instller progrm will uto-strt. If the instller progrm does not uto-strt, rowse the CD, locte nd doule click edppinstller.exe 2) On the e-dpp Instll Menu min dilog ox, click Instll License Mnger utton. 3) On WIBU-KEY Set-up dilog ox, click the Next utton. 9 of 13

Click the Next utton. 5) Click Next to continue. 6) Click Yes on the succeeding dilog to confirm cretion of the folder. 7) On the succeeding dilog ox, do the following:. Uncheck ll the options. 12 B) Client Worksttion License Configurtion 1) Select Strt Control Pnel nd doule click the WIBU-KEY icon. 2) On WIBU-KEY Control Pnel Applet, perform the following:. Select Network t. Select User Specific on the pull down menu. c. On WIBU-KEY Susystems frme, check WkLAN option. d. Click Apply utton to sve selected options. e. Click Browse utton to serch for server. c d e 12 of 13

13 3) The Serch for WkLAN server dilog will e displyed. Do the following:. Select the computer nme of the License Mnger server.. Click Select utton. Note: If the computer nme of License Mnger Server does not pper, re-strt the license mnger service on the license mnger server (refer to step 2 under Running the License Mnger Service on pge 5). 4) Selected server will e displyed on the control pnel pplet. Click Apply utton gin to sve modified items nd click OK utton to close control pnel pplet. 5) e-dpp softwre cn now e run provided the License Mnger Server is lredy running. 13 of 13
