A stately stone fireplace is the feature in the City Timber Room along with a commanding view overlooking the Lower Mainland and Burrard Inlet. The adjoining Timber Deck has sweeping views over the Lower Mainland as a backdrop and makes for an intimate location to hold your ceremony. 6 Venues Lupins Café Located on the main floor of the Peak Chalet, Lupins Café offers stunning decorative alpine features, such as high cedar beams and copper lights that exude a soft glow in the evening. This warm and inviting room creates a flexible space ideal for buffets or cocktail receptions. Lupins Café features a private deck overlooking the City of Vancouver, Georgia Strait and surrounding mountains. This outdoor deck is not covered. 7 Outdoor Venue Mountain Top Plaza Capacity: 300 banquet seating for buffet / 400 stand-up cocktail reception This 8,000 square foot outdoor alpine plaza is located in front of the Peak Chalet and steps away from the upper Skyride Terminal 6:00pm 1:00am $2,000 rental. 8 Outdoor Ceremony Locations We have stunning outdoor locations which can be paired with our indoor venues. Many of the indoor venues include adjoining deck space which can be used for a ceremony. Outdoor ceremony locations are for summer months only. Three Bear Lookout Capacity: 150 seated Rate: $400 for up to two hours Panoramic views of Cleveland Dam, Capilano River and downtown Vancouver provide the breathtaking backdrop of Three Bear Lookout. Perched on a ridge in front of the Peak Chalet and surrounded by a natural cedar fence, Three Bear Lookout is the perfect venue for an intimate outdoor ceremony. All ceremony locations include the following: Stunning city, harbour or mountain views Signing table Wireless microphone and P.A. system Ceremony time must be same as reception venue booking Chair / bench seating can be arranged, charges apply. Hummingbird Gardens Capacity: 150 seated Rate: $400 for up to two hours Forest location, close to nature, hummingbird feeding, ideal for a gorgeous garden wedding. Complimentary admission includes a host of activities available to your guests before and/or after your wedding. SUMMER: Visit the Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Wildlife, home to two Grizzly bears Grinder and Coola; the Theatre in the Sky; Lumberjack Show; Self Guided Interpretive Walks; Birds in Motion Demonstration, and breathtaking views of the city and surrounding mountains. WINTER: Theatre in the Sky; Ice Skating; Sleigh Rides and Snow Shoeing and breathtaking views of the city and snow covered mountains. (All outdoor activities are weather dependant. If equipment is required, rental costs will apply). THE PEAK OF CHRISTMAS: During the month of December through to Christmas Eve we also feature our Peak of Christmas activities, Theatre in the Sky playing Christmas movies, live entertainment, reindeer and Santa. 10 Photo: Jessica Haydahl Booking and Coordination Process Our professional team here at Grouse Mountain takes great pleasure in assisting you in planning your perfect wedding. We strive to make each experience unique and memorable, while fitting within your budget, schedule and vision for your perfect day. Here is a guide to the Grouse Mountain wedding coordination process.* To confirm your booking, we require a returned signed copy of the confirmation letter, along with the non-refundable event deposit and damage deposit. The damage deposit is refundable should the wedding be cancelled, and applied as a payment at the completion of the wedding should no damage occur. Upon receipt of your confirmation letter and payments, you are agreeing to our terms of conditions and the date will officially be set for your wedding. 2 months prior to your wedding, your event coordinator will meet with you to discuss the time line and details of your wedding day. It is at this time we require food and beverage selections to be finalized. 45 days prior to your wedding day, we require the return of the signed event order, along with a second non refundable deposit, equal to 75% of the estimated event charges. 1 week prior to your wedding we require guaranteed number of attendees, along with a final seating plan and an alphabetical guest list so guests can check in on arrival at Guest Services for complimentary admission, and final vendor information and arrival times. *We are happy to fast track arrangements for close-in bookings. 11 Frequently Asked Questions 1. What does Grouse Mountain include for room setup? We will provide tables, chairs, white tablecloths, white napkins, plates, glassware, cutlery plus three small votive candles with tea lights. Any other décor requirements will need to be sourced. Ask us about recommended vendors. 2. As far as decor goes, what can`t be done? The use of tacks, staples, pins, tape, adhesives or similar materials are not permitted on any walls, windows, lights, pillars, flooring or ceilings, both in and around the Chalet. If you are unsure about a specific treatment, please discuss with your coordinator. 3. Can I bring in my own candles? Yes, as long as they are encased and/or have an established base. 4. What is the time frame that we would have the space? Daytime Functions: 8:30am until 4:00pm. All décor must be out of the room by 4:30pm Evening Functions: Timber Room 5:30pm until 1:00am Lupins & Altitudes 6:00pm until 1:00am All guests must download by 1:15am at the latest with any vendors having until 1:45am 5. When do we get access for decorating? Contact your wedding coordinator for availability and details. 6. Do guests need to pay for their Skyride tickets? For a catered event Skyride tickets are complimentary when the minimum spend required for the venue is met. 7. Where do guests collect their Skyride tickets? These can be collected the day of the wedding at Guest Services located at the base of the Mountain next to Starbucks. 8. Is parking included? We include five complimentary passes. Additional passes are $8.00 / vehicle. 9. Are we able to bring in our own wedding cake? Yes, you are welcome to bring in your own cake & we do not charge a cake cutting fee. 10. Can we bring in our own alcohol? Under our liquor license, all beverages served at your event must be purchased through Grouse Mountain Resort. 11. Does Grouse Mountain have a sound system? Yes, the use of in-house speakers is complimentary and is compatible with standard AV ports such as ipods and MP3 players. 12. Can we bring in a DJ or live band? Yes, you are welcome to bring in a DJ or a small band - space permitting. In consideration of our other guests we ask that the music be kept to a reasonable level until 10:00pm. The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) requires a license for each event where music will be played. Fees vary in range from $30-$175, plus applicable taxes. 13. Can we have dancing? Yes. Where required we will provide a 12 x 12 foot wooden dance floor at no additional cost. 14. Do you provide a wedding rehearsal? Yes, we provide one complimentary wedding rehearsal. If you require a Grouse Mountain staff member to be present at the rehearsal, a $50.00 charge will apply. Contact your wedding coordinator for availability. 15. Is smoking permitted? On May 31, 2009 we introduced new non-smoking measures, to make Grouse Mountain the first resort in BC to be completely smoke and tobacco free. Weddings at Grouse Mountain 2015/16 11
