4 OPERATIONS DRIVEN DESIGN Operations Driven Design - ODD Our operations driven design service brings our lessons learnt from how efficient buildings are operated and applies them to the design phase. Energenz act as the commissioning authority and sit on the clients side of the table in order to ensure that efficiency is integrated into the design and build process until the design is completed and commissioned. OPERATIONAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION MAKES UP TO 90% OF THE ENERGY CONSUMED DURING THE LIFE OF A BUILDING This service enables our client to make informed decisions during the development phase. Our operations focused engineers will act as an independent advisor to the client exploring functional and operational requirements, injecting the building design with an operational focus that enhances functionality, flexibility, commissionability and efficiency. This links up operational interest with design intent. An energy efficiency-driven designed system does not necessarily directly translate to a system working efficiently. Our engineers, acting as an independent commissioning authority, will add value to the procurement and construction process by injecting performance based specification and procure energy consuming systems that are not only built and constructed as specified, but also commissioned, configured, sequenced and fine-tuned for operational efficiency.

5 EFFICIENCY IN OPERATION Efficiency in Operation Our energy assessments service takes our teams experience and applies it directly to your site. From large scale commercial buildings to industrial plants, our team has the breadth and depth of experience to ensure your assets become leaders in energy efficiency. Energy Baseline The first step in any energy management programme is to establish an energy baseline. This is an annual consumption profile of your site over preceding years. This gives you an understanding of when and how much you are using energy during the year. Energy Breakup The second step is to establish where your energy is being used on the site is it the chiller plant, lighting, heating or compressed air systems that are using the most and how much is that? This allows you to prioritize your improvement efforts. Energy Management Opportunities (EMOs) The third and most important step is to understand the opportunities available for reducing consumption at the sites. What this gives you is a clear view on all of the financial investment cases for becoming a more efficient enterprise. If the projects cannot be financed internally, we can source funds externally.

6 ENERGY INTELLIGENCE Software Assisted Monitoring and Commissioning We now have access to lots of data about building performance. Hidden in this data are the keys to cost reduction. Energy Intelligence is our real-time monitoring and continuous commissioning service, using the latest technology for better management of energy, water, and waste. Energenz use this software to keep virtual eyes trained on your site and ensure it is delivering maximum efficiency all of the time. This software automatically looks for issues and quantifies the cost of those issues over time, allowing your site to gain the benefits of having an experienced engineer constantly monitoring on your equipment, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A typical Energenz client finds energy cost savings of 15% and payback times well under one year from this monitoring based commissioning approach.
