5 2.1. Training We provide training based on APMG methodologies and the PMBOK (Project management Body of Knowledge). Our project management course outlines are available on request. Our summarised current course offering includes: PRINCE2 Introduction This one day project management course aims to provide project team members in organisations with an overview of the PRINCE2 methodology. The aim of the course is to familiarize team members with the basic PRINCE2 concepts including: Components, Techniques and Processes. PRINCE2 Manager Overview This one day project management course aims to provide Senior Managers in organisations with an overview of the PRINCE2 methodology. Emphasis is placed on the role and responsibilities of the Executive, Senior User and Supplier. PRINCE2 Foundation This three day project management course aims to measure whether a candidate would be able to act as an informed member of a project management team using the PRINCE2 method. On successful completion of the examination delegates receive a qualification accredited by the APMG in the United Kingdom. PRINCE2 Practitioner This project management course of two days is aimed at measuring a delegate s ability to apply PRINCE2 to the running and managing of a project within an environment supporting PRINCE2. Delegates need to exhibit the competence required for the Foundation qualification, and show that they can apply and tune PRINCE2 to address the needs and problems of a specific project scenario. Practical Project Administration This course is designed for delegates requiring an introduction to project administration. Over four days, this course provides the theory, techniques and tools students will need to administer a project or participate on project teams. A skilled Project Administrator will not only take the administration load off the Project Manager, but will provide a dependable support structure to the entire project team. PRINCE2 Foundation Self Study and Blended Training This blend of training permits self study at the students pace, whilst classroom workshops aim to reinforce concepts and clarify areas of uncertainty. 6 PRINCE to 2009 Conversion This one day project management course aims to familiarize students that have completed the Foundation or Practitioner courses with the new 2009 version and the fundamental changes incorporated therein. Introduction to Project Management The purpose of this course is to introduce the delegate to the project management discipline and to enable them to start operating in a project environment by understanding the terminology used and interpreting and explaining the fundamental concepts of project management. Intermediate Project Management This project management course is designed for delegates requiring an introduction to project management and is run over three days. It provides the theory students will need to manage projects or participate on project teams. Our project management course materials are based on industry best practices from ISO standards, and the Project Management Institute s PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge). Advanced Project Management This two day project management course is designed for delegates that are already managing projects and builds on their experience by educating delegates on the advanced principles of project management. This project management course is based on industry best practices from ISO standards, and the Project Management Institute s PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge). PMP Preparation This project management course is designed for delegates requiring a course to adequately prepare them to take the Project Management Institute s PMP examination PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge). CAPM Preparation This project management course is designed for delegates requiring a course to adequately prepare them to take the Project Management Institute s CAPM examination PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge). Microsoft Project 2010 The three day Microsoft Project course is designed for project staff requiring to effectively utilise the tools and techniques offered by Microsoft Project It encompasses both PRINCE2 planning as well as the best practice PMBOK Guide (Project Management Body of Knowledge) accompanying Practice Standard for Scheduling.
7 2.2. Consulting PM Academy is an Accredited Consulting Organisation (ACO) with the APMG in the United Kingdom and a Registered Consultant (RC) with the Project Management Institute of America. We provide consulting based on PRINCE2 and the PMBOK (Project management Body of Knowledge). We have delivered various projects at clients and our practical experience includes: Programme and project Management PM Academy successfully implements programmes and projects for companies all over South Africa. We offer programme management services that ensure that a thriving project management culture is fostered within the organisation allowing for the successful completion of projects and a smooth transition through change in the operational environment.
