3 August 1, 2010 Dear Ludlam Parents, On behalf of the Ludlam PTA we are proud to send you this letter and ask you to become member of America's number one parent involvement resource: the PTA. PTA helps parents, students, school staff and communities work together to share ideas about programs and activities that benefit children. A few of the national PTA goals are to: Promote welfare of children and youth in home, school and community Secure adequate laws for care and protection of children and youth Bring into closer relation the home and the school so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth Develop united efforts between educators and the general public to secure the highest advantages in physical, mental and social education for all children. In short: PTA advocates for children! To obtain our goals this year, we will organize a number of events in which your involvement in any way will be highly appreciated. Please help us by becoming members of the PTA, which will give us the support and money and opportunity to speak up for our children at Ludlam Elementary. We cannot do it without you! 5 LUDLAM PTA IS LOOKING FOR PARENTS WHO CARE! This year, in keeping with our Ludlam PTA goals of Strengthening the Ludlam Community, Improving Communication, Increasing Advocacy and Education for Children, we are focusing on renewing programs that meet these goals as well as implementing new programs that meet the varied needs and interests of all Ludlam parents. As your PTA Board, we will help organize and implement these programs, but we cannot do it alone. Even if you can only volunteer a little bit, it will help contribute to a very successful year and to the overall success of our children. We welcome whatever you can give, but for those of you who want to be more involved and can help chair or coordinate a program, we are in need of the following: PTA COMMITTEE CHAIRS Community Outreach Legislative Advocacy Beautification Environmental Impact Room Parents Health & Fitness Committee Chairs are responsible for: Managing program(s) and organizing appropriate event coordinators. May also suggest new projects/programs to PTA Board and recommend Event Coordinators. Chairs must include PTA Board on all aspects of the project planning process.
