12 Changes to California Certification Former New Starting April 1 PHR-CA PHR, PHRca SPHR-CA SPHR, PHRca Required existing PHR or SPHR Same eligibility as PHR PHRca Eligibility The eligibility requirements are the same as the PHR, regardless of geographic location. Exam Cost Starting April 1, the exam fee will be $250, plus a non-refundable $75 application fee.

14 HRCI/ CalChamber Alliance: Benefits for CalChamber Members Recertification Credit Members who are HRCI certified and who are actively employed by members of CalChamber to earn up to twelve (12) Recertification Credits per renewal cycle (access to HRCalifornia is required): Three (3) credit hours per full year of membership (to a maximum of 9 credit hours) under the membership category. An additional three (3) California credit hours (1 credit hour per year) under the continuing education category. If the HR professional s credential does not require California credit, the credit type will default to HR General credit.
