1 Title: Automotive Equipment Mechanic I LSA Status: on-exempt Computer Code: 1 BIE DESCIPTI: The purpose of this position is to provide entry level mechanical services to the city s fleet of equipment and vehicles. This is accomplished by performing responsible semi-skilled work on a variety of automotive equipment; recording repairs on work orders; and obtaining training to improve technical knowledge and skills. Performs on call duty as assigned. 2 M Provides help to other mechanics when needed to gain knowledge 25% and experience by changing oil filters and lubricating equipment; ensuring all equipment has proper amount of fluids; washing, cleaning, waxing and detailing automobiles and trucks; performing road service; and, operating fuel trucks and pumps. 3 M Perform office and shop cleaning duties as assigned; pick up and 20% deliver vehicles, equipment, parts, and other assigned duties. 4 M Provides emergency response during severe weather (snow, floods, storms, etc.). 5% Automotive Equipment Mechanic I 1
