The course of the Kids Triathlon will be used as the training ground. Participants must bring their own lunch, swim suit, running shoes, bike and helmet. This camp will focus on continuing the development of fundamental baseball skills in a fun and safe environment, which both novice and experienced players will enjoy. The camp will include instruction in hitting mechanics, infield/outfield fielding fundamentals, base running, and pitching mechanics. No experience is needed to participate in this camp. Learn these skills from experienced Bay Area High School Baseball coaches. The City of Berkeley s Spring Break Youth Baseball Camp is open to boys and girls ages This camp will be a great mid-season review to help players finish the spring season strong and a great introduction to the City of Berkeley s Summer Youth Baseball League. Berkeley Day Camp is full of action packed adventure and messy fun. Day campers visit both Tilden Park and the Berkeley Marina to enjoy canoeing in the Bay, hiking, swimming, and arts and crafts like the-dye and candlemaking. Campers will love playing field and sports games, learning basic cooking principals during cookouts, and participating in a different special event each week. Transportation provided. Straddling the Pacific Crest Trail and just minutes from Echo Lake and Desolation Wilderness, incredible views and excellent outdoor recreation opportunities await you and your family. Tent-cabin lodging, a regular daily activity schedule, artistin-residence classes, and memorable special events are all part of the fun. We will work together on sight reading, creating a beautiful group sound, locking in intonation, articulating with expression, and playing together as an ensemble. Activities include group warmups, all band rehearsals, sectionals, music games, and nonmusical games. Final concert Friday, June 19 at 3:00pm, (kids in Band Camp only, are welcome to stay from 12:00 3:00pm and prepare for the concert). Instructors: Jan Davis (music director at Longfellow MS), Karen Wells and Sarah Cline (music directors at Berkeley High). Activities include big bands, group warm-ups, improvisation workshops, sectional rehearsals, listening sessions, music games, and non-musical games. Final concert: Friday, June 19, at 3:00pm. *For those who would like to attend both Band and Jazz Camps, we will have lunchtime supervision and activities in Willard Park from 12:00 1:00pm daily. Campers will also engage with their local community through various service projects. Program open to incoming 6th graders to outgoing 8th graders who are Berkeley residents or who attend Berkeley schools. Must provide proof of residency/school enrollment.
