For over 57 fantastic summers, campers and counselors have joined together in a fun and supportive spirit, making summer memories worth reminiscing over for years to come. Our goal at Pine Crest Day Camp is to give each and every child an entertaining summer experience while building life skills, participating in challenges, and making new friends. It is our sincere hope that every PCDC camper will feel the satisfaction of being an integral and important member of our summer family. Here, your child will share lots of laughs and develop new strengths. Positive role models will expand their horizons, children from around the world will enrich their lives with diversity, and specialized instructors will help them master skills they will take away as their own. We invite you to join in on the fun, and thank you for considering Pine Crest Day Camp! Facilities PCDC is located in Northeast Fort Lauderdale, on the expansive campus of Pine Crest School. We are located on Cypress Creek Road, approximately a ½ mile east of I-95 and one mile west of Federal Highway. PCDC sits on 49 manicured and landscaped acres. It is here that all of our activities take place. Our facilities include three swimming pools, two gymnasiums, three auditoriums, two football fields, softball and baseball diamonds, professional batting cages, soccer, sports, and lacrosse fields, a manmade lake, and the thrilling and exciting zip line that traverses our scenic lake. Age of Campers (5 12) Our campers start at age five (must be a full fiveyears-old the first day of camp) and go through age 12. Each camper is placed in a cabin that correlates with his/her age and gender. Cabins move together and work through their assigned schedule visiting all 40 activities PCDC has to offer. 3 Pine Crest Day Camp 1501 NE 62 nd Street Fort Lauderdale, FL Activities At Pine Crest Day Camp, we have an everevolving program which varies slightly from year to year. We seek out the most qualified instructors and are always adding the latest trends in regard to our programming. Our activities are age-appropriate and geared toward age capabilities from our oldest to our youngest campers. Activities for ALL ages: Arts and Crafts Baseball Basketball Beading Bingo Climbing Lanyards Mini-Golf Paddle Boats Shrinky Dinks Waterslides Swimming Activities for Grades 3 7: Archery Electric Guitars Football Kayaking Lacrosse Volleyball Water bikes Zip line Typical Camp Day No two days are alike here at PCDC! The daily itinerary includes three, four, or five activities. Schedules include a mix of indoor activities, outdoor activities, and special events. Each day includes two trips to Snack Central, lunch, and swimming. We have two pools to accommodate our campers; we call them the Lower Pool and the Upper Pool. Campers in Kindergarten through second grade swim in our shallow-water training pool located on our west campus. Campers in grades three through seven will utilize the Upper Pool located on east campus. All pools are equipped with a staff of certified lifeguards. Friday is set aside for our big stage productions and assemblies. What a great way to end each week! Message about the Pool All campers must meet our Water Safe criteria. We refer to Water Safe as moving independently in the water, survival floating, and water confidence. We want to make sure that your child is comfortable in the water and with a large pool. All children will be swim tested on the first day of camp.

4 Important Camp Information and Policies Refunds & Attendance Policies PCDC has a NO REFUND POLICY. Days missed during a camp week cannot be made up during another camp week. Weeks missed in June cannot be substituted in July. Refunds are not issued if a child is dismissed due to disciplinary action based on his/her behavior or misconduct. Only in the case of an extreme medical emergency will this policy be reviewed by Pine Crest School. Refunds will not be issued in the event that the National Hurricane Center broadcasts a hurricane/tropical storm warning for our area. In such a case, Pine Crest Day Camp will cancel its program for the duration of the inclement weather. Refunds or make-up days will not be issued. We reserve the right to cancel programs or sessions if there is insufficient enrollment. Camp Dining A variety of lunch choices, including a salad bar, deli bar, peanut butter and jelly, hot dogs, hard boiled eggs, and hot lunches are provided daily. All campers will also receive a morning snack and a refreshing afternoon snack each day. We realize that campers have very different diets, preferences, and dietary requirements. Unfortunately, PCDC is unable to accommodate special diets related to allergies. We do not operate a kosher kitchen, and our facility is not a peanut free environment. By offering a diverse menu, it is our hope that your child(ren) will be able to find something that suits their preferences, regardless of dietary restrictions. We do not allow any outside food on our campus. Insurance Parents/guardians are responsible for the payment of all insurance and medical bills. 5 Important Camp Information and Policies Camp Dates Monday, June 15-Friday, July 31. We offer two sessions to meet your needs. There are no halfdays, shortened weeks, or daily registration options. Camp Hours Camp begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. You may begin drop off at 9:15 a.m. and pick up as late as 3:30 p.m. For an additional fee, Extended Day Care (Playhouse 90) is available in the morning starting at 7:30 a.m., and in the afternoon until 5:30 p.m. All programs operate daily, Monday through Friday. Registration Summer camp registration is only available online. Once you have created a user account, you may register for PCDC. Once you have completed all of the required sections of registration, including payment, a confirmation will be sent to your address. All required registration forms (in addition to online registration) must be completed and returned before your child can begin camp. Transportation For an additional fee, PCDC provides optional bus service throughout almost all of Broward County. We have several stops located throughout the tricounty area. Please contact our transportation office directly with regard to any bus questions ( ). Playhouse 90 (Extended Day) For an additional fee, PH90 (Extended Day) campers may be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m. and picked up as late as 5:30 p.m. Campers will be involved with age appropriate activities during these hours. They are supervised by PCDC staff, and a snack will be provided. Deposits A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required for each camper at the time of registration. This will be applied toward the total camp tuition. This fee must be paid at the time of registration in order to reserve a space for your camper. Enter your camper s information 4. Select your session(s) and Review your choices 5. Click Submit. 6. Choose a payment option. * Please be sure to fill out all fields in order to complete your registration. ** All programs are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability and age requirements as described within this brochure and online. *** You will receive a confirmation , and the mandatory Physician s Authorization form will be sent in that . Registration is not complete until we receive this form mailed or faxed to our office. Uncomfortable paying online? No problem. You can still create your camper account and continue with the registration process. Just select one of our other payment options. Please do not hesitate to call us with ANY questions! We LOVE to help! Should the services of our Registered Nurse (RN) ever be needed, rest assured that your child will be wellcared for by our caring and knowledgeable RN and her compassionate and kind assistants. Parents will be informed any time their child makes a visit to the nurse for an injury or illness. Before enrolling your child, please be aware that children with life-threatening allergies, those prone to seizure, campers who are recovering from surgery, or young ones who are not truly aware of their own limitations due to medical issues, may not find PCDC a good fit. Please call us in the Day Camp office at if you would like to talk about any special needs your child might have. PLEASE NOTE***Every camper on our campus must have OUR Pine Crest Physician Form signed by a FLORIDA physician. This form will be sent in your conformation after you register online. Medication at Camp The camp nurse will dispense all medications from the Health Office. The medications must be provided in its original container along with our signed Physician s Authorization form from the parent and doctor. This also includes over-the-counter drugs, cough medicines, etc. Without a completed and signed form, the camp nurse cannot treat your child(ren). Security Our campus has 24-hour security, seven days a week by uniformed, trained, and certified security personnel. Our security program has been recognized as a model for independent schools by private security companies and police agencies throughout the country. Cooperative partnerships with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department along with security training presentations and audits to schools throughout the country have led Pine Crest into the forefront of school safety and security.
