Be introduced to the basic notes of the piano. Pottery Camp 1:00-4:00 PM grades 1-5 Learn how to mold clay into creative functional works of art using various types of clay and pottery tools. Theatre Camp 9:00-NOON grades 1-5 Explore the theatre thru improve games and activities. Will perform a small show at the end of the week. Boys and girls will build a wide variety of fantasy settings (i.e. castles, outer space, and sea life) and other creative projects utilizing legos. August Amazing Race Camp 9:00-2:00 PM grades 1-5 This is a perfect way to send off the summer with a bang. Join us for a fantastic mystery that is full of surprises at the Appleton Y. This race has all the fixings for a great time! There is a mystery that needs to be solved and it s your job to follow the clues throughout the downtown community. 5 WORLD LANGUAGE CAMPS World Language Camps will take students on a journey immersed in the language and culture of a chosen world language utilizing the amenities of the YMCA and the community. In partnership with the Appleton Area School District (AASD), each camp will be based on the AASD world language curriculum and led by experienced teachers. Camp lesson plans will include wellness activities, community exploration, outdoor environmental experience, along with cultural art and music appreciation. Will include visits to community attractions, parks, libraries and more. World Language Camps will accommodate all levels of language experience French, German and Spanish Grades: 1-3 and 4-6 Fee: YMCA Member $64, General Public $79 Program Goals Experience cultural practices through art, music and conversation Experience significant symbols, objects, and geographical regions of the select language Enrich students knowledge of conversation within the select language Enrich students knowledge of reading and writing within the select language Camp takes place at, community restaurants, parks, library and more.
