About the Membership Meeting eurocris membership meetings are held twice a year and combine the organisation s business matters with a minisymposium on Current Research Information Systems. The aim is to involve the members actively in eurocris actions and projects and to reach out to regional communities. The meetings are therefore held in different countries and have mutual promotional value, both for eurocris and the host countries communities. II. IV. Topic Session The special topic for the meeting is: On the way to agreed national and international classification schemes. The choice reflects the growing need mainly within national surroundings to exchange data for evaluative and/or monitoring purposes. Up to now such data collections are usually a heavy burden for all organisations involved. Main reasons for this are inconsistent definitions of research fields (e.g. disciplines) and indicators (e.g. amount and date of funding; type of publications). The main approach to reduce the work load can be seen in the use of commonly agreed classification schemes. The meeting will give room for the discussion of approaches to such agreements and best practice examples from different countries. Format 2 day meeting; plenary sessions and interactive workshops V.
