4 Settings can also be accessed by typing chrome://chrome/settings/ into the address bar. On Mac OS X, settings can also be opened by choosing Chrome > Preferences or hit, (Command key plus the comma key) 4

5 Browser Settings 1. Open the Settings page (directions above) 2. Locate the Privacy section and choose Content Settings a. Note For most people this will not be visible until they expose advanced settings. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and select link that says Show advance settings if it is present. 3. In the Content settings overlay ensure that the following options are set: a. Cookies: Allow local data to be set (recommended) b. Cookies: The option for Block third-party cookies and data is unchecked c. JavaScript: Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended) d. Pop-ups: Allow all sites to show pop-ups Note: The pop-up blocker can remain active, as long as Realpage is added to the exception list. To do this, click on the Manage exceptions button to open up a Pop-up exceptions overlay; here type *.realpage.com and set the Behavior to Allow 5

6 Security 1. Open the Settings page (directions above) 2. Locate the HTTPS/SSL section and choose Content Settings a. Note For most people this will not be visible until they expose advanced settings. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and select link that says Show advance settings if it is present. 3. Check the box next to Check for server certificate revocation Deleting the Cache: 1. Open the Settings page (directions above) 2. In the left-hand navigation click on History 3. Click the Clear all browsing data button at the top of the page; this will open up an overlay with the title Clear browsing data 4. From the Obliterate the following items from the dropdown, choose the beginning of time 5. Ensure the following item is checked and uncheck all other items not listed: a. Empty the cache 6. Click the Clear browsing data button Deleting Cookies Only: 1. Open the Settings page (directions above) 2. In the left-hand navigation click on History 3. Click the Clear all browsing data button at the top of the page; this will open up an overlay with the title Clear browsing data 4. From the Obliterate the following items from the dropdown, choose the date range that is most appropriate; please note that this will delete all cookies for the user for the given timeline regardless of site: a. Selecting "the past day" should help clear cookies related to a user's session b. Selecting the beginning of time will remove all cookies in the browser 5. Ensure the following item is checked and uncheck all other items not listed: a. Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data 6. Click the Clear browsing data button Important: OneSite Expected Settings Enable Popup Following are screen shots for enabling popups in Chrome. 1. Open Google Chrome 2. In the address bar type: chrome://settings/contentexceptions#popups 3. Add [*.]realpage.com in the Hostname pattern and set the behavior as Allow, Click on Done 6

10 4. Click on Content Settings under Privacy 5. Click on Manage exceptions under Pop-ups 6. Add [*.]realpage.com in the Hostname pattern and set the behavior as Allow, Click on Done 10

11 Update Chrome Normally updates happen in the background when you close and reopen your browser. However, if you haven't closed your browser in a while you might see the Chrome menu on the browser change colors to green, orange, or red. If you see green that means an update has been available for 2 days, orange - 4 days, and red - 7 or more days. To apply an available update, just follow the steps below. 1. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar. 2. Select Update Google Chrome. 3. In the confirmation dialog that appears, click Restart. The browser saves your opened tabs and windows and reopens them automatically when it restarts. If you'd prefer not to restart right away, click Not now. The next time you restart your browser, the update will automatically be applied. 11

12 Procedure to open PDF with Google Chrome If your reports or any other PDF file is greyed out, simply follow the steps below to resolve this problem. 1. Open Google Chrome configuration. Click on the three lines on the top left of Chrome browser and then click on Settings: 2. At the bottom of the page, click on Show advanced settings : 12

13 3. In the section Privacy, click on Content settings : 4. Find the section Plug-ins and click on Disable individual plug-ins : 5. Finally, disable Google Chrome PDF. Select the disable link. When the area is grey and the link changes to enable, the setting is correct, shown below: 6. When you open a PDF now, it will be downloaded in the bottom of the browser. Simply click on it to visualize it: 13

14 Chrome and Group Policies on Windows Chrome is started in a profile that is created on-demand and therefore has many Chrome s default settings (those we cannot manipulate programmatically at startup). To override many of the settings for new Chrome profiles, the windows Group Policy editor may be used. Chrome looks here to override many default behaviors. You can look at the list of the Chrome s supported policies to see if your behavior is included there. After installing the group policy templates (linked from the supported policies page), you will be able to edit these from the Windows Group Policy editor (gpedit.msc). Personal Computer Configuration Display Settings 1. From Desktop mode, go to Settings and click on Control Panel. 2. Under Appearance and Personalization select the task Adjust screen resolution. 3. On the Settings tab, use the drop down to set the screen resolution to the required OneSite setting of at least 1024 x 768 pixels. Then, click the Make text and other items larger or smaller link on the same page. 14

15 4. On the Make it easier to read what s on your screen page, make sure the setting is set to Smaller 100% (Default). Next select Set custom text size (DPI) from the navigation panel on the left. 15

16 5. Set the Percentage of normal size to 100%. 16
