2 ABOUT THE EVENT Lawyers are going to find them selves empowered by technological advances over the next decade to handle ever-increasing e- discovery workflows, where processing mere petabytes will seem so Jason Baron The Chilli IQ Information Governance and ediscovery Summit has reached its eighth year and the 2014 event is going to set ediscovery high on the corporate agenda. The event will tackle current leading topics relevant to all involved in litigation from the legal personnel at the coal face right through to the technology drivers at the heart of the legal system. Growing data volumes are driving e-discovery towards greater automation, most recently with the artificial intelligence technique known as predictive coding (recently recommended by the ALRC). Whilst increased automation requires the use of statistical quality control methods based around sampling, and courts are increasingly demanding the use and reporting of such methods, practitioners will be looking at ways to reduce their clients discovery costs and increase reliability through adopting these techniques.
