2 5:00 7:00pm Reception THURSDAY May 14, 2009 Who Wants to be a Defendant? Interactive game show modeled after popular television show, but the questions involve Human Resources/Legal issues. Inhouse counsel and employment specialists know the "alphabet soup" of employment laws (ADA, ADEA, EPA, FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, OTETA, OWBPA, PDA, Title VII, etc.). But are you confident enough to take a quiz that tests your knowledge? Each question involves multiple choice answers and an opportunity to discuss real world issues ranging from discrimination to discipline for off-duty misconduct to the trend of reducing/eliminating employer-provided cell phones and smart phones. 7:30am 3:30 pm Registration 7:45 8:45 am Continental Breakfast 8:45 10:00 am Session III: Health & Welfare Benefits Moderator: Amy Armstrong Assistant Vice President, Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority 2009 Chair, ACI-NA Human Resources Committee Speaker: Nancy Blough, Executive Vice President, American Health Data Institute 10:00 10:30 am Refreshment Break How to Manage the Risk on Your Health Care Plan There is no silver bullet to managing the cost of a health plan. Participants will learn how to appreciate, rather than depreciate, an organization s greatest asset base: its 3
4 employees. It is oftentimes stated by leaders and managers alike that employees are their greatest asset. While these words communicate a proven truth, oftentimes the actions of these same managers and leaders present another truth to employees which are inconsistent with their words. Enlightened leaders are those that eliminate the gap between their words and actions. Sustainability is a business strategy which continues despite, or perhaps because of, the current business climate. Learn how to leverage the power of sustainable workforce practices to appreciate your organization s human resources. Participants will hear practical examples of steps taken to build a sustainable workforce as well as ideas that might be applicable in their own organizations. Finally, a tool to evaluate the sustainability of various programs will be shared. 4:30 5:15 pm Session VII: Compensation & Benefit Survey Survey Update Moderator: Cathy Arnit, Director of Human Resources, Tucson Airport Authority, 2009 Chair, Human Resources Committee s Compensation & Benefits Working Group and Steering Group Member Speaker(s): Steve Treder, Vice President, Western Management Group (WMG) FRIDAY May 15, :00 11:00 am Registration This session will give you exciting details on ACI-NA s first annual Compensation and Benefits Survey, 2008 edition, which was completed and made available in January It includes salary data from 81 airport members and includes data for 63 key jobs, representing over 3100 employees.
