16 Construction Goals S32764 Interlocking Modern.: 34 St / 6th Avenue S32765 Interlocking Modern.: W. 4th St / 6th Avenue S CBTC Equipment Supplier Interoperability B-Division S CBTC Queens Boulevard West- 50 Street to 71 Av: Phase 1 Signals and Systems Background/Goals Range Duration This project will modernize and improve the reliability of the 34th St interlocking located on the IND 6th Avenue Line in the borough of Manhattan. Work will include replacement with a new conventional relaybased interlocking and the construction of new relay rooms to house all associated equipment. This project will modernize and improve the reliability of the West 4th Street interlocking located on the IND 6th Avenue Line in the borough of Manhattan. Work will include replacement with a new conventional relaybased interlocking and the construction of new relay rooms to house all associated equipment. This project will utilize the documentation and test facilities developed under the Culver Test Track project to develop and qualify additional interoperable CBTC suppliers. Culver Test Track Project technical documentation will be provided to these additional suppliers as soon as it is mature enough to be released. These suppliers systems and subsystems will be tested to all of the requirements (both on the interoperability test facility and test track) developed under the Culver Test Track Project. This project is the first phase of the installation of Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) on the Queens Boulevard Line in the boroughs of Queens and Manhattan. The extent of the project is from 50th St. in Manhattan to Union Turnpike in Queens. This project will provide a base communications infrastructure to support a multitude of projected technology initiatives that will improve security, fare collection, customer communications and service delivery. This project will provide ventilation for 19 communication rooms at multiple locations in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx to meet NYS Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code's prescriptive requirement for hydrogen gas concentration thresholds. This project will install Public Address and Customer Information Screens (PA/CIS) at 87 stations system wide. These are the only remaining stations without any form of PA/CIS system. The systems to be installed under this project will feature digital audio and digital text-messaging capabilities, and will be connected to the NYCT communications network. This project will provide a base communications infrastructure to support a multitude of projected technology initiatives that will improve security, fare collection, customer communications and service delivery. 20 Construction Goals W Real Time Train Arrival Information 'B' Division Ph 2 W Replace Bus Radio System C Fire Alarm: 207 Street Overhaul Shop SS Fire Alarm System at 207 St Shop C PBX Upgrade, Phase I W P2 Integrated Service Information & Management B- Div: Module 1 Systems & Security Background/Goals Range Duration This project will provide real-time train arrival information at 288 stations on NYC Transit's B-Division (lettered) routes (except for Canarsie, which already has such service), plus all stations on the Flushing line. This project will also upgrade older station public address systems, install customer information screens at stations that currently lack them, and implement one or more technologies to identify the location of trains. This project will replace NYC Transit's and MTA Bus' existing bus radio system with a new digital radio system. In addition, a new bus command center will be built at East New York. This project will replace the fire alarm system at the 207 St. Overhaul Shop, located in the borough of Manhattan. A new state-of-the-art system that ties together all of the buildings' fire protection systems will be installed. The new system will meet the National Fire Alarm Code, as well as all New York state and New York City fire codes. Stations Renewals include Ditmas Ave, 18th Ave, Ave I, bay Pkwy, Ave P, Ave U, and Ave X. Component Repair locations are Ave N and Kings Hwy. his project will repair select station elements within the Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard, Broadway, and 39 Avenue Stations along the BMT Astoria Line in the borough of Queens. Work will vary by location and may include the repair or replacement of street stairs, platform edges and floors, and platform or mezzanine canopies. All deficiencies of the selected components within the stations will be eliminated. This project will provide full ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessibility at the 68th Street-Hunter College Station on the IRT Lexington Avenue Line located in Manhattan. This project will repair select elements in 2 locations; 9th Street and 59th Street Stations on the 4th Ave Line in the borough of Brooklyn. Work will include the repair of structural deficiencies throughout the station and improvements to architectural treatments. Stations include Clinton, Washington, Kingston-Throop, Ralph Ave, Rockaway Ave and Liberty Ave. This project will repair select elements including painting within the 3 stations on the Cross-town Line. Stations include Broadway, Myrtle-Willoughby & Clinton-Washington. This project will rehabilitate 9 stations on Sea Beach line including, 8th Ave, 18th Av, 20th Ave, Fort Hamilton Parkway, Kings Highway, New Utrecht Avenue, Bay Parkway, Ave U, 86th Street, the borough of Brooklyn. All station elements will be rehabilitated during this project. Work will include rehabilitation of the street-level control houses, rehabilitation of tunnel structures supporting the control houses, replacement of one passageway enclosure and relocation of the other, relocation of one stair, replacement of platform metal stairs and canopy, and rehabilitation of platforms. In addition, station aesthetics will be remedied and artwork will be installed. This project will perform component repairs at 6 Stations on the 8th Avenue Line including 168th St, 145th St, 110th St, 103rd Rd, 50th St, and Spring Street This project will replace the platform edges at the 121 Street, 111 Street, 104 Street, Woodhaven Boulevard, Cypress Hills and Myrtle Avenue stations; repair the platform columns at the 121 Street and 104 Street stations; and replace the mezzanine to platform stairs at the 104 Street station. Work will include the repair of structural deficiencies throughout the station and improvements to architectural treatments. $1 million 10 October 2014 / December 2014 A Station Renewal New Lots Line - 6 Stations This project consists of renewal of 6 Stations on New Lots Line in Brooklyn by eliminating deficient conditions rated 3 or worse at these stations as rated by Station Condition Survey and existing field condition. Locations are Van Siclen aver, Pennsylvania Ave, Rockaway Ave, Saratoga, Junius Ave, and Sutter Ave-Rutland Rd. $25 million or greater 15 October 2014 / December 2014 E Replace 7 Hydraulic Elevators This project will replace ten hydraulic elevators system wide in order to achieve more reliable and efficient operations. Work will include rehabilitation of the light fixtures and/or light towers to ensure operational safety. 24 Projected/ Advertise Award November 2013 / January 2014 C Overcoat Broadway Junction to New Lots Ave / Canarsie This project will paint a portion of the elevated steel structure of the BMT Canarsie Line from south of Broadway Junction to south of New Lots Avenue in the borough of Brooklyn. $10 million 22 December 2013 / March 2014 A Structural Steel Repair, Lower Level, 9th Ave, West End Ln This project will rehabilitate the Lower Level of the 9th Avenue Station on the West End Line (BMT D" train), Brooklyn, which also connected to NYCT's 38th St. Yard. Work will include repair/replacement of corroded structural steel (columns and Beams), concrete and west Portal. This project is part of an on-going MTA- NYCT program to achieve a state of good repair. TBD November 2013 / January 2014 T St. George Interlocking - Phase 1 The work proposed under this project is as follows: west end of the tunnel to the east end of the station platforms on Track 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and Track NS2 up to signal SG30. The project consists of replacing all the tracks, ties, contact rail, and switches within the limits of the project. This project will replace obsolete Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)- based fan controls with new PLC's at 26 vent plants. Work will include replacement of PLC control equipment hardware and software and to provide communications between the vent plants and the Remote Operations Center. This project will rehabilitate pump rooms at four locations system wide. Locations include Walton Ave and Brook Ave in the borough of the Bronx, and 146th Street and 148th Street in the borough of Manhattan. The pumps are used to pump out water from subway system into the city sewer system. This project will enhance the security of NYC transit's Power Control Center (PCC) and Rail Control Center (RCC) in Manhattan and its 130 Livingston Plaza building in Brooklyn. The deep wells are installed for controlling ground water surrounding the subway tunnel to prevent water infiltration. This project will repair high-priority deficient components at various railcar shops at locations system-wide. Work will vary depending on the individual needs at each location. This project enables immediate repair needs to be met as opposed to waiting for a full shop rehabilitation or reconstruction. This project will install equipment that will enhance access control at various NYC Transit facilities throughout the system as a part of the agency's security initiatives. This project will upgrade the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and the power distribution systems at NYC Transit's Rail Control Center (RCC) and Power Control Center (PCC) located in the borough of Manhattan. This project will rehabilitation of Underground fourteen Substation Hatchways at twelve locations: Lenox - 113th Street SS, Lexington - 78th Street SS, St James Place SS, Lafayette Avenue SS, Avenue C SS, Bedford Park SS, E 184th Street SS, Bradford Street SS, Downing Street SS, Spencer Place SS, Schermerhorn Street SS, Flatbush - 5th Avenue SS. his project will install a new Power Substation at Prince's Bay in the Borough of Staten Island. Work will include furnishing and installing the high tension switchgear, power transformer, rectifier, DC feeder breakers, positive and negative cables, ventilation system, etc. This project will bring the car washer at three yards to a good state of repairs by receiving component replacement. 37 Construction Goals C Car Washer Repairs at Coney Island Yard C Structure Repair: Pacific to 59 St-4th Av Line P Rehab CBH #275 Pearl Street / Clark Infrastructure and Facilities Background/Goals Range Duration This project will bring the car washer at Coney Island Yard to a good state of repairs by getting component replacement. This project is the first phase of the rehabilitation of subway structure of the 4th Avenue Line between 59th Street and Pacific Street stations, located in Brooklyn. Work will include sealing water leaks and leaking cracks in walls, ceilings & ventilators; repairing spalled concrete; repairing ventilator structures and emergency exits; replacing corroded steel members; and repairing a deteriorated duct bench.
