2 The status will show Online (see bottom right side of Outlook), but you will be connected to the online Exchange server over HTTPS, the secure version of HTTP, used for all internet access from a web browser. You will be able to select all users from your company in a dedicated address list. This example below is hosted on an Exchange server with hundreds of users, but you can see only the users in the logged on users company

3 You will be able to send mail to, and receive mail from any of these users and the mail will stay in house. The logged on user will be able to setup their own contacts list and store customer details in there. They can then select them from the address lists. The more powerful features of Exchange Server can be utilised such as opening another user s mailbox. Since no mail is stored locally, when a user goes on holiday, they can access their mailbox (including calendar, contacts, tasks etc..) from wherever they are, and back in the office, a PA can open their mailbox and action mails

5 This ensures mail collaboration for all users even if they are not in the office. Currently, small businesses running Outlook Express or POP3 accounts in Outlook download their mail to their PC.
