2 Why we introduced this programme The precursor to the Diploma in the Management of is the IMI Diploma in Regulatory Management which was first run in 2011 and was developed in conjunction with regulatory agencies to develop the management capabilities of key staff. The programme has been open only to those working within regulators so as to provide an environment where confidential issues can be discussed safely. The reputation of the IMI Diploma in Regulatory Management has led to different organisations who work in a regulated environment to seek a programme with broadly similar learning objectives for their staff to develop their compliance capabilities. 6 Entry Requirements Participants are required to provide evidence of relevant workbased learning at a management level and/or should hold a relevant academic qualification at primary degree level. Accreditation Successful participants will be awarded both the IMI Diploma in the Management of and the UCC Postgraduate Certificate in Management of. The Postgraduate Certificate qualification is accredited and awarded by University College Cork National University of Ireland, Cork and is a Level 9, Minor Award on National Framework of Qualifications. By completing this programme you will also earn one-third of the credits required to be awarded the Master of Business qualification. Assignments and Workload To attain the IMI Diploma in the Management of participants are assessed in each of the main subject areas via a variety of practical assignments. This programme involves no examinations - instead the emphasis throughout is on the practical application of knowledge to benefit you and your organisation. Assessment workload is spread across the year to allow you to combine learning with work and life demands. In order to accelerate learning, between modules participants are expected to complete assigned reading from texts and articles. 7 The IMI Master of Business Framework The Master of Business is based around a framework of thirteen IMI Diploma Programmes. By completing any two IMI Diplomas and a Business Research Project or three IMI Diplomas and a Reflective Integrated Assignment within a five year timeframe, you will earn 90 credits (the national standard for a Masters Qualification) and will be conferred the title Master of Business. Timeframe A key feature of the Master of Business (MoB) is its flexible timeframe, which allows you to tailor your participation around work/life demands.
