MAJOR ELEMENTS OF YOUR JOB: SUMMARY: In one or two sentences, describe the primary purpose of this position. The Tradeshow & Events Marketing Specialist EMEA will provide administrative, creative, co-ordination and logistical support, including financial accountability for tradeshows and events held by Christie in EMEA. Working with the Director of Marketing EMEA, the EMEA marketing team and the informal EMEA exhibitions team will implement tradeshow and event marketing programs in support of the marketing communication plan and Christie s goal to create and share the world s best visual experiences. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Describe the major accountabilities against which your performance will be measured. They should be limited to accountabilities not activities. The role is accountable for the joint development of tradeshow and event marketing strategy alongside the Director of Regional Marketing and consultation with Christie s EMEA Marketing team, EMEA sales team and Christie s partner network in EMEA. The position is accountable for positioning Christie as a technology expert within the ProAV marketplace in EMEA via its use of source content, display solution showcases and the delivery of its brand via tradeshow and event marketing. The booking and administration of both tradeshow / event onsite services and 3 rd party support services, including the development of source content and display solution showcases. To administer pre and post show communication for both internal and external audiences, as it relates to driving attendance and extending the post-event visitor experience. To accurately record, analyse and report contact leads derived from Christie s own tradeshow and event marketing activity; including partner funded event activity for the purposes of developing business and assessing the performance of the tradeshow and event marketing activity. The development and administration of Christie s source content library in EMEA. 2
PERFORMANCE WILL BE MEASURED BY: The generation of contact leads derived from Christie s own tradeshow and event marketing activity; including partner funded event activity for the purposes of developing business and the handover of accurate contact data to the Channel Marketing & Communication Manager EMEA. The development of source content and display solution showcases for use in tradeshow and marketing events activity and their adaption for use in demonstrations at Christie s EMEA office locations, remotely by the EMEA sales team and Christie partner network in EMEA. The visitor experience pre-event, event and post-event including communications received with a view to increasing awareness of Christie s industry role as a technology expert and its goal to create and share the world s best visual experiences. Support of the EMEA marketing and EMEA PR team in execution of the marketing communication plan and the broader communication goals of Christie in EMEA via tradeshow and marketing event activity. RESPONSIBILITIES: What are the major duties and activities required to undertake this position? Administer the execution of Christie s investment in tradeshow marketing activity in EMEA and support Christie s goal to create and share the world s best visual experiences. Including, but not exclusive to, administration of stand design, on-stand signage and messaging, content, display showcases, contact taking, provision of on-stand collateral, provision of on-stand show giveaways and promotional devices, staff registration, hostesses, on-stand hospitality and support of off-stand programs and Christie product supported exhibitors. Develop stand tours in English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish in conjunction with the EMEA Marketing team and EMEA sales team to engage Christie s Partners and End-users and develop stronger brand relationship. Administer the execution of Christie s investment in event marketing activity in EMEA and increase awareness of Christie s industry role as a technology expert. Including, but not exclusive to event sponsorship (funded or via product loan), on-site event signage and messaging, content, display showcases, contact taking, provision of on-site collateral, provision of on-stand show giveaways, promotional devices and educational material. Administer pre-event, event and post-event communication to both internal and external audiences for Christie and Christie Partners tradeshow and event marketing activity in EMEA recognising that Christie supports communication in English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish in EMEA. To develop source content and display solution showcases for use in tradeshow and marketing events activity and their adaption for use in demonstrations at Christie s EMEA office locations, remotely by the EMEA sales team and Christie partner network in EMEA. 3
The booking and administration of both tradeshow / event onsite services and 3 rd party support services ensuring tradeshow and event marketing expenditure remains within budget. Work with the Channel Marketing & Communication Manager EMEA to ensure the addition of all events based contact data is recorded accurately prior to importing into Christie s contact databases within 5 working days from close of tradeshow or event. To report on contact leads secured from Christie s tradeshow and event marketing activity in EMEA. Work with the Channel Marketing & Communication Manager EMEA and the PR & Communication Manager to drive the use of Christie s demo facilities at its EMEA offices for Partner network and networking events. And utilising these events to grow Christie s repository of technical and educational content for partner and end-user consumption. Work with the PR & Communication Manager EMEA to ensure that tradeshow and marketing event activity is correctly aligned to the marketing communication plan and communication matrix. Supporting media engagement on-stand or at event as required, but typically including media tours, interviews and video production. Maintain the tradeshow and events project calendar on mychristie (Sharepoint) and communicate both provisional and final tradeshow schedules to appropriate internal and external groups, including the authoring of tradeshow and event web pages, tradeshow catalogue entries and show guides for staff. To drive attendance to tradeshows and events; and increasing visitor engagement by creation of e-bulletins and their distribution in English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish via Christie s contact databases. Administration of Christie s EMEA content library for all media format including safe storage, distribution, duplication and return of these materials; observing content usage rights across EMEA. To work colloboratively with the diverse roles of the EMEA marketing team to create and support integrated marketing actvivities, campaigns and programs. To strive for excellence in your work, ensuring knowledge of tradeshow and event marketing is kept up to date and relevant by networking, researching, reading, blogs and news sources. To freely share knowledge, insight, best practice and ideas relevant to the promotion and marketing of Christie s business ensuring all materials generated are made available to EMEA and global marketing team via mychristie (Sharepoint). Responsible for monitoring & reporting tradeshow marketing and event expenditure on a quarterly basis to ensure expenditure remains in budget. Other responsibilities as assigned. 4

Weekly reporting optional, unless requested. Monthly and quarterly reporting and review is mandatory. Decisions requiring change to the EMEA tradeshow and events schedule are agreed with the Director of Marketing EMEA. Decisions requiring the authorisation of expenditure in excess of US$2,500 are to be agreed with the Director of Marketing EMEA. Give details of the sources of instruction for the work you do. EDUCATION: What is the optimum formal education required to perform this function? Graduate with 3 or 4 year formal degree in either Event Management, Theatre Management, Media, Communication, Marketing, Business Studies or a related field of study. List professional certification(s) or license(s) required to perform this job. None required, but value of certification from CIM or IDM is recognised. EXPERIENCE: How much experience is required to perform this job at a fully competent level? On the job: Related: Minimum 3 years experience, ideally 5 years. 8+ years Define the elements of this job which can only be learned through direct experience either in a specific industry or within this organisation? Experience of tradeshow and events planning, communication, marketing, stand design, stand management and contact management can be secured from event marketing in a broad range of industries and businesses, but experience secured through the exercise of these skills in the presentation of a physical product at tradshows and events is the most appropriate. 6

Can demonstrate the ability to determine appropriate metric sets and secure performance analysis from them. Ability to lead projects from concept to completion. Familiarity with software tools critical for today's creative design approaches (such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat Pro). Experience with software tools critical for communication (MS Powerpoint, Content Management Systems, ideally authoring and publishing in a Microsoft Sharepoint environment).
