2 1. Create a Player Now that you re set up with a trial, you can create a Vidyard Player this is the container your video lives in. Within your player, you can include videos from your local computer, an FTP site, a video recorded on the spot from your webcam, or videos from YouTube. To upload or import your video content, follow these steps: 1. Log into the Vidyard dashboard at http://www.vidyard.com/login 2. In the top-right corner, click the Create Player button 3. In the resulting window, choose a previously uploaded video, upload a new video, or search for a video on YouTube. To choose a previously uploaded video: A. Select the Previously Uploaded tab B. Sort the video list by name, date updated or date created C. Hover over the desired video and click the Select button To upload a new video: A. Select the Add From Your Computer tab B. Upload a video by dragging it into the window or select a file to upload with the Choose File button To search for and import a video on YouTube: A. Select the Add From YouTube tab B. Search by video or userid, or enter a direct URL to the video C. Hover over the desired video and click the Select button 4. In the bottom right of the window, click the Save button That s it! You ve successfully created your first Vidyard Player! You can now embed this player in multiple locations and, even if you make changes to the settings, you ll never have to re-embed to see the changes take effect. Changes are reflected across locations, which makes for quick video fixes in a pinch.
3 2. Publish a Player With your Vidyard Player up and running, you re now ready to put it on display online. Vidyard allows you to embed your player as a lightbox, inline embedded object, or you can share your videos with a sharing page. A lightbox embed maximizes your videos to its full size and puts it at the forefront of the viewer s attention. 4 A sharing page is a standalone webpage you can use to share your player and get comments from viewers. This is great for sharing your video content in an email campaign or through social media outlets. Standalone sharing page To embed your player, follow these steps: 1. In the My Players section of the Dashboard, click the Edit button to the right of the player you want to embed. 2. Click the Embed button to open the Embed Details page. 3. Choose the method you would like to use to share your player:
5 4. Click the Copy to Clipboard button for the desired method. 5. Paste the embed code into your website, blog post, or other online media. About the Vidyard Player Embed Code: The player embed code consists of a reference to a Vidyard-hosted script that executes when the page is loaded. The lightbox embed code also includes an <img> element referencing the splash screen you have selected for your player. This section can be replaced with your own custom HTML code as required. The Vidyard Player is also compatible with a variety of content management systems. Help with embedding your player on WordPress, tumblr, Blogger and other CMS can be found here. Once your embed code has been inserted into your website or you have shared your sharing page URL, visitors to your online space can view your video content in the player you created. You re now ready to begin customizing the look of your Vidyard Player. 3. Customize the Player You can change the appearance of your Vidyard Player to match your website design and optimize the video viewing experience for you audience with interactive options. To access the player settings, follow these steps: 1. In the My Players section of the Dashboard, click the Edit button to the right of the player you wish to customize 2. Click the Settings button to open the player customization page
6 Configuring General Player Options Use the General Settings section to configure the following items: Player name and description - Set the name and a description of the player to distinguish it from other players in your account. You may want to set naming conventions if you have multiple account users so as to avoid confusion when your video library contains multiple videos. Autoplay - Starts video playback as soon as the page loads versus having the viewer press play. Viral sharing - Adds a share button to your video player allowing viewers to share your video on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and via email. You can configure the default message that is posted along with your player, or specify an alternative URL to share. Allow re-embed - Adds an embed button to your player, allowing viewers to embed your videos and share them.
7 Configuring the Look of the Vidyard Player The Style section allows you to optionally configure the look of the video player. 1. Choose a skin for the player by clicking on the desired design 2. Select a play/pause animation 3. Configure the size of the player using the text boxes. The player size is measured in pixels. To change the aspect ratio, clear the Lock Aspect Ratio checkbox 4. Click on the color swatch to open the color picker or enter a hexadecimal RGB code
8 Configuring Advanced Player Options In the Advanced Options section, additional customizations can be made to the player to change the way it behaves. Hover the mouse cursor over an item to see a brief description of that feature. Once all of your changes have been made to the player, be sure to click the Save button at the bottom left corner of the settings page. Changes made to the player will take effect anywhere the player is embedded without having to re-embed it across locations. Now that the player is customized and embedded, you can create calls to action to prompt your viewers to complete an action, fill out a contact form, or lead them to more content.
9 4. Build a Call to Action You can include final calls to action (CTAs) in video players to direct viewers to another page of your choice, lead viewers to more of your content, or prompt them to fill out contact forms to capture lead information. You can also create pop-out CTAs that appear at a select moment during video playback. To redirect viewers to a another page when your video ends: A. From the Vidyard dashboard, select a desired video B. On the players main page, scroll down to Final Call to Action and select Show Call to Action C. In the drop down menu, select Redirect to another page D. In the Redirect to text box, enter your desired URL E. Click Save To create a final CTA using the CTA Builder: A. On a player s main page, scroll down to Final Call to Action and select Show Call to Action B. In the drop down menu, select create your own call to action C. Click the Use CTA Builder button D. In the resulting window, drag and drop elements into the container E. Click Generate
10 Note: In the CTA Builder container you can add headlines, plain text, buttons, forms, and social buttons. You can also customize your colour scheme. To create a Pop-out CTA: A. On a player s main page, under Chapters, click Advanced > Pop-out CTA. B. Click Add C. Enter your desired text in the container and enter values for the length and size of the pop-out CTA D. Click Save All when complete Note: In the Pop-out CTA builder, you can select a border style, which side the CTA will emerge from, and if viewers can close the CTA. 5. Connect Vidyard to Your Marketing Automation Platform Eloqua Cloud Component The Vidyard Cloud Component for Eloqua allows you to quickly and easily embed Vidyard videos directly in your Eloqua landing pages. Updates and enhancements made to your video in Vidyard will automatically be updated on any Eloqua landing page displaying the video. Viewing data is tracked and available through Vidyard Analytics and can be associated with individual contacts in Eloqua using the Vidyard Cloud Feeder.
11 To Configure the Cloud Component: A. In the Cloud Components section of the Setup menu, select and Enable the Vidyard Video Embed Cloud Component Using the Cloud Component: A. While editing a landing page, click the Cloud Components menu and scroll down to select the Vidyard Video Embed cloud component B. Drag and drop the component onto your landing page canvas and double-click the Vidyard component to select your video and configure it For full configuration instructions in a guide, click here. Eloqua Cloud Feeder The Vidyard Cloud Feeder for Eloqua allows you to push video viewing data into Eloqua and associate it directly with individual contact records. This gives you the ability to see who has viewed a video and for how long. This information can then be used to segment lists, trigger nurture campaigns, and increase leads scores. Configuring the Cloud Feeder: A. Create a new custom object: a. Initial Settings: i. Display Name: vidyard_video ii. Entity Type: Contacts iii. Entity Field: Email Address b. Fields: i. UUID ii. Video Name iii. Video Attention Span iv. Email Address
12 c. Additional Settings: i. Group By Field: (none) ii. Display Name Field: Video Name iii. Unique Code Field: UUID iv. Email Address Field: Email Address B. In Vidyard, enter your Eloqua credentials in the Accounts submenu in the Accounts section to link the systems. The cloud feeder is now set up! Vidyard will automatically map to the fields you created on your Custom Data Object in Eloqua. Using Vidyard data in Eloqua: A. To leverage Vidyard data in Eloqua it is best to build shared filters to isolate the contacts that match the criteria you are looking for. B. These filters can then be used: a. To build segments b. As feeders into lead nurturing campaigns c. In lead scoring criteria d. For many other forms of automation
13 C. Create a new Shared Filter using the Has Linked Record in Custom Object criteria. Look for contacts that have specific values in the vidyard_video custom object such as Attention Span greater than 30 seconds or a specific Video Name. Add Other Administrators to Your Account Adding additional users to your account enables other members of your organization to participate in your video marketing plan by creating their own players and uploading videos. To add users to your Vidyard account, follow these steps: 1. Log into the Vidyard dashboard at http://www.vidyard.com/login 2. In the top-right corner, click Account 3. Click Organization 4. Click New User 5. Complete the provided form including the user s first name, last name and email address 6. Choose a role for the new account Admin: Admin users have full access to the account User: User accounts can access the account to perform most functions, but cannot invite other users or view billing details. 7. Add an optional personal message
14 8. Click the Invite button An email invitation will be sent to the user inviting them to sign into the Vidyard dashboard. You ve successfully added a user to your Vidyard account and can now work with them to build your Vidyard players and your video strategy. Thank you!
