3 1) Connecting to Your Online Interface Ø Visit Ø At the top-right corner of the page you can find and scroll over the Sign In button. Ø Enter your login ( address) and your password. Ø You re now connected to your online interface. 2
4 2) Start Creating Your Website First steps in creating your website: - Creating a Title - Choosing Temporary Website Address - Adding Website Content (text, photos, etc ) - Website Layout - Creating a New Page - Editting Headers - Publishing Your Website 3
5 2) Start Creating Your Website Choosing a Temporary Website Address Ø Your temporary site address will be in the format of your-site-name.webaxiatel.com, which allows you to access your site during your trial period. If you decide to keep your site beyond the trial period, you ll be able to choose a permanent domain name (.co.uk,.com,.net, etc ). 4
6 2) Start Creating Your Website - Adding Website Content (text, photos, etc ) Ø To add content to you site, you must click on the Add Content tab. Then choose what you want to add; click, drag, and drop the icon where you prefer it on your page. Ø To edit any added content, simply click the content itself. Ø Now you can write and format text using the orange editing toolbar that has appeared. Click outside the editing area to save your changes. Ø The same drag and drop process works for photos and other options. When you have placed your photo icon, click to edit, and click Upload Photo. Ø A browsing window will open where you re able to choose a photo from existing files on your computer, then click Validate. Ø Your photo will then be uploaded to the page, where you re able to resize it by clicking on the red square in the bottom right corner of the photo. 5
7 2) Start Creating Your Website Website Layout Ø Each of the items you add to your site is positioned one on top of the other. If you want elements side by side, use the Double Column icon. Ø Drag the Double Column icon onto the page. Ø You can resize the columns using the vertical bar. Ø To add new content in a given column drag and drop the elements into the specific column. Ø To move content once placed, you are able drag and drop it to another area of your choice. 6
8 2) Start Creating Your Website Creating a New Page Ø Click the Add a New Page button, and a window will open. Ø You ll need to name the page and then click Validate. Ø Your page has now been added, and you can start adding content. 7
9 2) Start Creating Your Website Editting Headers Edit the title and slogan Ø To change the title of your website, simply click the item to edit, then enter your text. Click outside the box to save the change. Edit the banner Ø Some designs have a banner included. To edit, click on the banner and an orange editting toolbar will appear. Ø Within the toolbar, click "Upload Image" to insert a picture you have on your computer. Ø Select the photo you want to put in your website banner. Once uploaded, you can crop it using your mouse to adjust. 8
10 2) Start Creating Your Website Publishing Your Website Ø Now that you have the foundations to create your site, you can publish it to make it public and visible on the Internet. Ø To publish your website, simply click the "Publish" button at the top right of the publisher. Ø Your website is now published. You can visit it by clicking on its address. Now you can share your site with contacts and on your social networks. 9

12 3) Managing Website Pages Managing Your Site Pages Ø You can create a sub page to keep your content in good order. Ø Click on "Options" within the "Create a New Page tab and select the parent page in the "Add Sub Page menu. 11
13 3) Managing Website Pages Hiding a Menu Page Ø When you create a new page on your website, a window will open. Enter a page name. Ø Click Manage Pages and uncheck Show Page in Navigation Menu. Ø After clicking Validate, your page will not appear in your site menu. 12
14 3) Managing Website Pages Reordering Website Pages Ø To change the menu page display order, page hierarchy, and subpages; click the Manage Pages tab. A list of your pages will appear: 1) You can move a page to edit the display order 2) You can change the hierarchy by clicking on the arrows 3) Click Register when finished 13

16 4) Managing Website Content Adding and Editting Text Ø Once you drag and drop the Text icon on your page, click to edit the text. A toolbar will appear for you to format text. Ø Edit the text font (bold, italics, & underline). Ø Edit text font size. Ø Edit text colour. Ø You can create lists and ordered lists. Ø Justify the text (left, center, or right justified), and increase or reduce the test margins. 15
17 4) Managing Website Content Creating a Hyperlink Ø Creating links to your website allows your visitors to access a specific page or go to another site. Ø To create a hyperlink, you must have text on your site already. Ø Click to on the text to edit, highlight the exact text that will be the link, and click the Add a Link button shown. Ø A window will open where you can create your link: You can link to the page of your choice from your site, an external web address you enter, or an address you enter. Ø To create a photo link, you must already have added a photo to your site. Ø Click on your photo to edit, then click More Options. Finally, click Edit Link and follow the linking instructions above. 16
18 4) Managing Website Content Adding a Photo Gallery Ø Go to the "Multimedia menu on the left and then drag and drop the Photo Gallery icon on your page. Ø Click on the "Add Photos" button; a window will open so you can select photos from your computer. Ø Select the photos you want added to the gallery (you can select more than one at a time). Use the cursor to choose how many photos are to be displayed per line. Ø You can change the order within your photo gallery by using the drag and drop method. Ø By clicking on the X, you delete a photo from the gallery. 17
19 4) Managing Website Content Adding a Video Ø You can add a video to your website. Your v i d e o m u s t o r i g i n a t e from Youtube, Dailymotion, or Vimeo. Ø Drag and drop the Video icon on the page. Ø Click the video to edit. Ø Copy the video URL from its source. Ø Paste the URL into the video address text field and click Add. The video will appear where you can resize it using the red square in the bottom-right corner. 18
20 4) Managing Website Content Adding a Map Ø To add a map on your website, drag and drop the Map icon on your page. Ø Click on map to edit it, and the editting toolbar will appear: Ø Enter the address you want to locate. Ø Enter the name of the place. Ø Select the type of view: plan, satellite or hybrid (satellite and plan). Ø Choose to display the information bubble or not. Ø Adjust the zoom level. Ø Choose the alignment. Ø You can now resize the map through the red square in the bottom-right corner. 19
21 4) Managing Website Content Adding a Contact Form Ø Add a contact form on your website so your visitors can leave you message you will receive directly in the inbox of your choice. To do this, drag and drop the Contact Form icon to your page. Ø Click on the form for editing. Ø Insert the address where you want to receive your visitors messages. Ø You can choose your form alignment Ø In the additional options, you can change the field names (functions can not be changed). 20
22 4) Managing Website Content Adding a Document for Download Ø Have documents (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, etc...) available on your website for visitors to download. Ø To add a document on your website you must drag and drop the File icon (available in the Multimedia menu) to the site page. Ø Click on the item to edit. Ø Click the Download a File button. Ø A window will open prompting you to select the file you want to add. Ø Once the document is added, you can change the website display name. 21

24 5) Integrating Widgets and Other Content Adding a Calendar Ø You can add a calendar on your website using Google Calendar, a free service. Ø Yo u w i l l b e a b l e t o m a n a g e y o u r calendar on Google, which will be updated on your site. Ø Visit to create or view your calendar. Ø Within Google Calendar, select the calendar you want to insert in your website. You have the option to create a new one specifically for your site. Ø To view options, select My Calendar Settings. Ø Go to the Share this calendar link, select the Make this Calendar Public box, and click Save. 23
25 5) Integrating Widgets and Other Content Adding a Calendar Ø Within Calender Settings, there is a Calendar Details tab copy the HTML code (You can customize the colour and size if desired). Ø Return to the Axiatel.com online interface, drag and drop the Widget/HTML icon on any page of your website and paste the HTML code. 24
26 5)Integrating Widgets and Other Content Adding a Points of Interest Map Ø It may be useful to create maps with multiple points of interest to see your points of sale or list your resellers. You can do this using Google Maps, go to maps.google.co.uk. Ø Within Google Maps, click My Places and then click on Create a Map. Ø Name your Map, for example: Our points of sale. Type the address of a point of interest you want to add to your map. 1) Click the point you want to add to display the bubble. 2) Click Save to map 3) Select your card and click Save. 25
27 5) Integrating Widgets and Other Content Adding a Points of Interest Map Ø Repeat this for all addresses that you want to add. Ø Then click on My Places Ø Select the map you want to add your website and copy the HTML code. Ø Return to the Axiatel.com online interface, drag and drop the Widget/HTML icon on any page of your website and paste the HTML code. 26
28 5) Integrating Widgets and Other Content Adding a Search Engine Ø Want to add a search engine on your website, we suggest you use the Google: Ø Once on the site, click on the Create a Custom Search Engine button. 1) Enter a name and description for your search (you can put the name of your site for example). 2) Enter your website address (example: If you still have not ordered your domain name you must use your Axiatel temporary address: 3) Choose the right edition (Standard edition should be sufficient to start). 4) Read and accept the Terms & Conditions if agreed, and then click Next. 27
29 5) Integrating Widgets and Other Content Adding a Search Engine Ø Select the style of your search and then click Next. Ø Copy the search engine code in step 3 Ø Return to the Axiatel.com online interface, drag and drop the Widget/HTML icon on any page of your website and paste the HTML code. 28
30 5) Integrating Widgets and Other Content Adding a Facebook Like Button Ø The Facebook Like button allows your visitors to share your site with their friends. Visit: developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like Ø Enter your website address (example: If you still have not ordered your domain name you must use your Axiatel temporary address: Ø Click on Get Code Ø A window will open where you need to copy the XFBML codes. Ø Return to the Axiatel.com online interface, drag and drop the Widget/HTML icon on any page of your website and paste the HTML code. 29
31 5) Integrating Widgets and Other Content Adding a Forum Ø If you d like to add a forum to your site to give your visitors a voice, follow these next steps. Ø Visit tal.ki, and click on Get your embeddable forum. Ø Choose the free package, and you can change format later if you wish. Ø Log in using the service of your choice. Ø To copy the embed code, click Copy to clipboard. Ø Return to the Axiatel.com online interface, drag and drop the Widget/HTML icon on any page of your website and paste the HTML code. 30
32 5) Integrating Widgets and Other Content Adding a Comments Option Ø Visit disqus.com/admin/register/ and complete the registration form. Ø Select your language and click Continue. Ø Click on Universal Code. Ø Copy the Embed Code code. 1) Add Widget/HTML content on the page or add to your comment page. 2) Copy the code. 3) At the line, "var disqus_shortname = example " replace the example with the name of your site that you ve registered with on Disqus. 31
33 5) Integrating Widgets and Other Content Adding a Widget or HTML Ø You can integrate informative tools and apps on your website. Widgets allow you to insert particular forms of contacts, calendars, buttons, etc... I Like Facebook. Ø To do this, copy the JavaScript or HTML content, in our example we'll copy the code to install a Twitter Widget on your account. Ø From Axiatel.com, drag and drop the Widget/ HTML icon, click on the content to edit, and paste your code. 32
34 6) Adding a PayPal System Adding a PayPal Button Ø Visit the site Ø Sign up or log in to your existing account. Ø Go to cmd=_button-designer Ø Complete the form, where you can choose several different types of buttons. Your Shopping Cart button allows you to sell more products while Purchase button only allows a customer to buy one product. Ø Once you ve completed the form, click on Create Button. Ø Copy the code. Ø Return to Axiatel.com and add a Widget/HTML icon where you want your PayPal button located, click to edit and paste in your code. 33
35 7) Customising a Domain Name Choosing a Domain Name Ø Go to Domain Name. Ø Enter the domain name you prefer and check its availability by clicking on Check Availability. Ø If available, click Register domain. If not, please check other options until you find something available that you like. Ø Once Validated, your domain name has been ordered. It will be available within 48 hours after order. 34
36 8) Tracking Website Traffic Installing Google Analytics Ø Google Analytics is a service published by Google that gives you very precise statistics on traffic to your website. Ø Visit: Ø Sign up or log in to your existing account. Ø Once you ve accessed your Google Analytics account, click on General Information Ø Copy the code. Ø From Axiatel.com click on the Settings tab, then paste the code in the page header. Click Save when completed. 35
37 9) Naming Website Pages How to Name Website Pages Ø It is very important to name your pages, for example if you want to improve your position on the term VoIP": Ø Create a page whose name is VoIP. Ø Add a VoIP to your page. Ø Click on the Manage Pages tab Ø A default page title is created, although you re able to change this. Ø Enter a list of keywords separated by a comma, for example mobile telephonie, VoIP, GSM. Ø Enter a page description (for example: Discover our custom B2B VoIP solutions. Equipment, mobile and fixed line plans. Ø Click Save when completed. 37
