Understanding the Mobile App The Home Security and Control system mobile application offers you the ability to remotely monitor and manage your home security system from your iphone and ipad. The application provides only a limited subset of functionality provided by the security Touchscreen and Online Portal, but it allows you portable control of your home security system from anywhere that you can access 3G service. To use the mobile application, you will need to: Install the mobile application Configure the mobile application Begin remotely monitoring and managing your system iphone and ipad are registered trademarks of Apple Inc. 3

Installing the Mobile Application To install the application: 1. Go to the Apple App Store and search for Bright House Networks. 2. Tap Bright House Networks Home Security and Control to display the Home Security application listing. Apple is a registered trademark of Apple Inc. 4

3. Tap FREE in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to change it to a green INSTALL button. 5

4. Tap the green INSTALL button. 6

5. The itunes Password dialog appears 6. Enter your itunes password and tap OK to begin the installation process. 7

Configuring the Mobile Application After you have installed the Mobile application, you must configure it to access your home system. To configure the application: 1. Tap the application icon on your iphone to start the application. Home Security and Control splash screen appears. 8

2. In the Username field, enter the user name provided to you by your service provider. (This should be the same name you use when logging in to the Online Portal.) 3. In the Password field, enter the password you use to when logging in to the Online Portal. 4. Tap the Login button. 9

5. After successfully logging into application, the Home Screen appears. 10

Remotely Managing and Monitoring your Home Security and Control System From the mobile application, you can arm and disarm your home system, turn home security zones off and on, view real-time camera images, and view system history. If the system is armed and one of the sensors is triggered, you will receive an audible beep on your iphone (regardless of whether you have sound muted on the Touch Screen). Note: Ensure that your iphone ringer is turned on, so you can hear alarms when they are triggered. Managing the Security System When managing your home security system using the mobile application, you can perform the following operations: Remotely arm and disarm the security system. Remotely turn Security Zones off and on. 11

Arming the Security System To arm the security system: 1. Tap Security. 12

2. Tap Disarmed Press to Arm. 13

3. Select the condition under which to arm the system. Select from: Arm Stay Someone is staying on the premises. You may want to arm only certain zones. Arm Away No one is staying on the premises. You may want to arm all zones. Arm Night Someone will be on the premise. You may want to arm only certain zones 4. Enter your security passcode. 14

The system gives you a countdown, during which you can cancel arming. To cancel arming, you will need to re-enter your passcode. Once the system is armed, the green bar turns red and reads Armed Press to Disarm. 15

Disarming the Security System To disarm the security system: 1. Tap the green Security bar to display the Security screen. 16

2. Tap Arm Press to Disarm. 17

3. The keypad is displayed. Enter your passcode. 4. Security system is disarmed 18

Enabling and Disabling Security Zones You can enable and disable individual security zones that you have set up using the Touchscreen or the Online Portal. Note: You can only enable or disable security zones when the security system is in the disarmed state. When the system is in the armed state security zones cannot change. To enable or disable a security zone: 1. Tap the green Security bar to display the Security screen. 19

2. In the Home Security area, tap the security zone whose status you want to change to display the screen for that zone. 20

3. Tap the On/Off switch to enable or disable, respectively, the security zone. 21

Viewing Camera Transmission From the mobile application, you can view the images transmitted from the security cameras to the security system. If you have full-motion cameras, you can view either fullmotion or static images. Note: Full-motion transmission can consume large amounts of 3G bandwidth. To conserve bandwidth, it is recommended that you view static images when using 3G. Captured images and videos are viewed from the History screen, either as images manually captured as a result of an alarm or zone. To view images and video from your cameras: 1. Tap the blue Cameras bar to display the Live Media Screen showing the last captured images from each installed camera. 22

2. Tap a camera to view images of that camera. 3. By default the most recent captured image of the camera is displayed. 4. Click Video to view streaming video from the camera. 23

To view images and video captured manually from the Online Portal, due to a security zone being faulted, or as a result of a rule, go to History. 24

To view image/video capture events that were initiated: Manually from the Online Portal As a result of a Scheduled rule configured in the Online Portal 1. Filter the History by All. 25

2. Tap the image capture event. 26

The captured image or video is displayed. 27

To view images captured as a result of an Alarm or Zone event: 1. To view images captured as part of an alarm, filter the History by Alarm. 28

The Alarm events are displayed. An Alarm event that has images attached identifies the number of captured images. 2. Tap the Alarm or Zone event that caused the images to be captured. 29

The first captured image is displayed. 3. Swipe to display other images capture during the same event. 30

Viewing Security System History You can view a log of events that have occurred in the security system. The log lists events such as when the system was last armed or disarmed, when and where alarms were triggered, and which zones were breached and when they were breached. To view a history of events in the security system: Tap History to display the History screen. 31

History screen displays. From this screen, you can choose to view a history of recent events based on the following criteria: All All logged events. Alarm Alarm events. Arm Arm/Disarm events. Zone Events related to security zones 32

All Events This filter shows all events in the order in which they occurred starting with the most recent. Zone events that trigger alarms are not listed here (see Alarm Events). This is the only filter in which you can view images and video that was manually captured as a command from the Online Portal. This sort of event is flagged with a. Tap the event to display the image or video. Also, this is the filter to display trouble events related to your TouchScreen. Zone Events This filter displays events that are related: 33

Tap a zone event to view details about the sensor at the time of the event: 34

If a camera is associated with a sensor so that it takes pictures as a result of it being tripped, tap the event to display the captured images. If the system is reporting a trouble, it is flagged with an exclamation point (below). Alarm Events Alarm events are Zone events that have triggered alarms. See Zone Events for more information. 35

Arming/Disarming Events These events are related to arming the system, disarm: Each list item of this type also states the method used arm or disarm the system: TouchScreen Portal (Online Portal or iphone app) Key fob 36

Managing Thermostats From the mobile application you can view the current state and measurements of your thermostat. You can also: Change the Mode to Cool or Heat Change the Cool or Heat set temperature To access your thermostats: 37

1. Tap Thermostats to display the Thermostats screen. The current measured temperature, mode, and setting is displayed for each thermostat. 38

2. Tap the thermostat to view the Thermostat screen. Tap to turn off the thermostat. Tap Tap to set the thermostat to Cool mode. to set the thermostat to Heat mode. Drag the orange bar right or left change the Heat or Cool temperature setting. 39

3. Tap Settings to view the Settings screen. 4. Turn on Hold to maintain the Heat/Cool/Off mode and temperature you have set for the device from the iphone app or Online Portal, and ignore any other programming configured directly on the Thermostat device. 5. Turn on Fan Auto Mode to have the system to only turn on the fan when the Cool/Heat comes on. Turn it off to have the fan run all the time. 40

Managing Lights From the mobile application you can view the current state of your lighting devices. You can also: Turn the lighting devices on or off Change the dimmer setting To manage your lighting devices: 41

1. Tap Lights to display the Lights screen. This light is off: 42

When a light is on you can modify its Dimmer level. 2. Tap More to toggle between the control for the lighting devices or to view the history of recent events related to the lighting devices. 44
