How to use this Guide This Course Enrolment Guide 2015 provides you with information on when and where the units available for study in this program(s) will be offered in 2015. Enrolling in units for 2015 1. Read Section 2. s Offered in 2015 for information on course structure and unit sequence. Take note of any prerequisite or co-requisite requirements before selecting particular units. Take note of the study period in which units are offered. A prerequisite is a requirement that must be met by a student before enrolment in a stipulated unit. It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the prerequisites for a unit prior to enrolling into that unit. A co-requisite is a requirement that must be met by having already passed or being concurrently enrolled in an associated unit in order to be able to enrol in the stipulated unit. If you wish to enrol into a unit for which you have not met the prerequisite or co-requisite requirements, please obtain approval from your Course Coordinator. 2. You must refer to Administration and Enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/332297) for information on how to complete your enrolment via Student Connect. Administration and Enrolment also provides detailed information on managing your studies. 5. Log on to Student Connect and enrol (http://students.acu.edu.au/136953). Student Connect is a web interface allowing students to complete their ACU enrolment online. IMPORTANT NOTE Failure to enrol or re-enrol before the published due dates for re-enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/381148) may result in late fee penalties. Even if you are unsure of what units you need to enrol in, please ensure that you enrol or re-enrol in at least one unit before the due date. Enrolling in at least one unit by the due date will enable you to add further units, or amend your enrolment via Student Connect up until the final dates published in the Critical Dates for Variation of Enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/273880). 2

Turnitin The Faculty of Education and Arts values students academic honesty and integrity. It employs a range of processes and technologies to support students to ensure their work aligns with University s Academic Honesty Policy and Framework for Academic Integrity. Turnitin, now available at ACU, is an online originality checker and is an educative tool for students. It allows students to preview their work and identify originality prior to handing in assessment items. Program Information IMPORTANT NOTE: Course rules and credit points (cp) vary depending on when a student was first enrolled into a degree. Students enrolled prior to 2015: 2.1 To qualify for the Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership, a student must complete 40 cp from the Schedule of Offerings, consisting of: a. 20 cp from Core s; b. 20 cp from Specialist s. 2.2 To qualify for the Master of Educational Leadership, a student must complete 80 cp from the Schedule of Offerings, consisting of: a. 20 cp from the Core s; b. at least 20 cp from Specialist s; c. up to 40 cp from Specialist s or Electives. Students commencing in 2015: 2.3 To qualify for the Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership, a student must complete 40 cp from the Schedule of Offerings, consisting of: a. 20 cp from Core s; b. 20 cp from Specialist s. 2.4 To qualify for the Master of Educational Leadership, a student must complete 120 cp from the Schedule of Offerings, consisting of: a. 20 cp from the Core s; b. at least 30 cp from Specialist s; c. at least 10 cp from s; d. 20 cp from Capstone Project ; e. and up to 40 cp from additional electives All students: Elective units may be taken from the Master of Education (https://students.acu.edu.au/643238), Master of Religious Education (https://students.acu.edu.au/643300) or other postgraduate units with the approval of the Director. 3

Notice for students who wish to receive an award for a course of study other than that for which they are enrolled: If you are enrolled in a master s degree and wish to exit with a postgraduate certificate you may apply for course completion once you have met the requirements of the lower level award. Subsequently, if you wish to resume your studies in the higher level course, you will be required to reapply for admission to that course. If you are enrolled in a master s degree and intend to complete this degree, you may request a letter from the Course Coordinator (if required) confirming that you have satisfied the requirements for the postgraduate certificate, but you cannot receive this award. 3.
