Veterans Day Dedication On November 11, 2015 several students participated in a Veterans Day event, which took place at Exeter Library. My peers and I helped out with this event by providing traffic/parking control and the presentation of the colors for a new monument dedicated to our veterans who have served our country. The event lasted two hours and seemed to have been an overall success. Carter Stanley Exeter Student On Wednesday, November 11th, a select group of security and protective services students attended an unveiling of a monument dedicated to the veterans of the Town of Exeter. Students braved rainy, windy and cold weather while providing traffic control, crowd protection and a color guard detail for the event. The students involved showed great resilience, discipline and fortitude. Mr. Ryan Poirier, Protective Services Instructor

Exeter Job Corps Culinary students along with Chef Mark Bennison catered the Veterans Day Memorial dedication event held at the Exeter Public Library. Gamika Thompson, Cristoper Marquez, Ian Wood, Patrick Wood, Jordan De Freitas, Karyssa Kneeland and Sharice Andrini volunteered to work. Along with platters of dessert, vegetables and cheese, we also served 6 different types of sandwiches. Many people showed up to honor the men and women who have served our country. They especially enjoyed the warm coffee that counterbalanced the brisk day outside. Karyssa Kneeland Exeter Student Culinary News

November 13, 2015 Volume: 11 Number: 39 GK Thinks Kittrell s OK BUTTERFIELD FLIES UP TO KITTRELL BCL Joan Robinson reports that U.S. Representative G.K. Butterfield spent the afternoon at Kittrell on Tuesday to meet with staff and students. He was accompanied by top staffers Annette Taylor and Reginaild Speight. After a tour of the Center, Butterfield dined with SGA leaders and discuss leadership skills and career planning. Pictured below are Butterfield with SGA leaders, as well as with Center Director Matt Gale and BCL Joan Robinson. As demonstrated by the picture, despite Gale s best efforts, Butterfield did not agree with Gale that Big Ten basketball is better than beloved ACC. Atterbury s Awesome Administrative Assistant 50 FABULOUS YEARS After 50 years at the Atterbury Center, CD Administrative Assistant Donna Woolston has officially retired from Job Corps. As one of the first hires at one of the system s first Centers, Woolston may be the longest tenured staff member in the history of Job Corps. Congratulations to Ms. Woolston on her retirement. Her friendly voice and demeanor will be missed!
