8 At the conference Small College & University professionals love talking about their experiences and their institutions. Ask us about them. We ll tell you! When you get a business card from someone you meet at the conference, write some brief notes on the back of the card where you met and what you discussed. Then follow up with an or a hand-written note a couple weeks after the conference.

9 Beyond the conference Join the Small Colleges & Universities listserv. Contact your Region Representative and ask to get involved. Each Region Rep has State Representatives to engage in communication and recruitment not all of them are filled. Injecting our work into Student Affairs Graduate Preparatory Programs

10 Want to work at a Small College? Must have a commitment to the mission. Learn how to do a lot with a little. Gain experiences outside your primary functional area. Show that you are a relational leader. Collaborate with faculty. Know assessment.

(There are several others to choose from, too, including your Region s.) Be brave and start up conversations with seasoned community college professionals. Follow up with s and schedule information interviews in regard to NASPA or about specific jobs or colleges.
