Tech Tip: How to use your online, cloud-based tools for Spike ikegps introduced a beta version of its cloud-based tools for Spike, which enables you to now measure photos from your desktop. Once you upload your photos to the cloud-based tools, you can view, edit, measure and download Spike photos using an Internet browser from your desktop. You can also download the photos back to your Spike mobile app from the online tools. While the online tools look slightly different from the Spike mobile app, all of the tools on the mobile app are available online. We re continuously improving this new feature;; however, at this time, we recommend you only use Chrome, which is preferred, or Firefox as your Internet browser on your desktop computer. Follow the instructions below to create your online account and use the new online tools, so you can measure from your desktop. 1. Creating an account You can create an ikegps online account one of two ways. 1) Visit the ikegps website at www.ikegps.com, and click on the yellow SPIKE CUSTOMER LOGIN button near the top right of the page. When creating a new account, check I accept the Terms and Conditions. Once you set up an account, you can log in from the same page because you already have an account. 2) You can also create an account from your Spike mobile app on your smartphone or tablet. 2. Uploading to the cloud ios Interface From the Spike Image Gallery, there is a toggle at the top that says Local and Cloud. All photos stored in the Spike app are under Local. Any photos stored in the cloud are under the Cloud toggle. You can select as many photos as you would like send to the cloud at one time by clicking the Select button, choosing the photos you wish to upload to the cloud, and then clicking on the upload icon on the bottom left. You can also upload one photo at a time by clicking on the photo in the Local Gallery, click on the Upload icon and select Upload to cloud. Android Interface From the Spike Image Gallery, there is a toggle at the top that says Local and Cloud. All photos stored in the Spike app are under Local. Any photos stored in the cloud are under the Cloud toggle. You can select as many photos as you would like send to the cloud at one time by pressing and holding the first photo until Select Items is displayed on the top left. Log In to Your Online Account If you re not already logged in to your online account, you will be prompted to log in to your account. If you already created an account, enter your account information. Otherwise, you can create an account. In the Spike application, you can also log in and log out of your account under Settings/Cloud/Account/Sign out on ios or Settings/Account/Log out on Android. 3. Navigating Your Online Account After you log in, you will be taken to the main online account page where all photos you ve uploaded to the cloud are shown. 1. Map shows a visual map of where your photos were taken. 2. Gallery shows all the photos that are located in your online account. 3. At the bottom of the photo is the date and time the photo was taken. 4. Each page only allows 20 photos to be viewed. Click PREVIOUS or NEXT to move between pages. 5. Sort allows you to organize images by CAPTURE DATE, which is the default, or RECENTLY UPDATED. When you click to open a photo, the main screen for the photo opens. Here are the options you will see: Download only the photo with no measurements in PNG format. Download the photo with measurements in PNG format. Clicking on the measure icon allows you to create any measurements you need. Note: All measurements must on the same plane as the alignment rectangle and where your laser, which is the red dot, is pointed. Deletes the image. Measure The currently selected point is white, which can then be dragged to create the shape you want to measure. a. Set the surface s perspective by outlining a rectangle on the surface you want to measure. This identifies and corrects the horizontal and vertical angles from which your photo was taken. b. Measure the area of a polygon or rectangle by adding or deleting points. You can only measure one area during this step. Use the cutout tool to create additional measurements. c. Create as many cutout area measurements as you would like. Add or delete points to create the polygon you would like to measure. d. Measure straight lengths. You can create as many line measurements as you would like. e. This deletes the entire shape you created, including measurements. f. This deletes a point, or measurement, but not the shape. g. - Once you re finished with the photo, click SAVE if you wish to save your measurements, and then return to the main menu by clicking the cloud icon on the top left. 4. I m done taking measurements. Now what? When you hover over a photo in your online account, you can choose from four icon options. Open and edit the photo to take your measurements. Open a print window that includes the photo with measurements and a table of measurements. Download the photo with measurements as a PNG file. This deletes the photo from your online account, but it still stores locally in your Spike mobile app on your smartphone or tablet. 5. Moving photos back to your smartphone or tablet (ios Interface) If you would like to send a photo to your mobile device from your online account, go to the Image Gallery within the Spike mobile app on your smartphone or tablet and select Cloud. Then, select the photos you wish to download and click on the download icon (bottom left).
