(Limit response to the space provided.) arch 1, 2012, tarek, Inc. completed its closure of its enry ounty site eliminating 133 jobs and removing $393.4 thousand in assessed value for office furniture, fixtures, and equipment equaling a tax revenue value loss of $5.8 thousand. arch 8, 2012, eay, Inc. and subsidiaries, a elaware corporation, d/b/a I ommerce, Inc. in enry ounty announced it would expand its operations investing $1.5 million in machinery and equipment and creating 61 new jobs. his expansion is located in a portion of an existing facility which had been vacant for a number of years. ommonwealth rossing usiness entre: anitary sewer service extension to the site was completed, permit applications were submitted for the grading of the 200 acres pad site and all but the.. rmy orps of ngineers permits were issued. ids were obtained and a contract awarded and a notice to proceed was contingent on obtaining the final permit. owever, as of the date of this report the orps has failed to issue the final permit required for construction to begin. irginia venue ransportation nhancement roject: dditional funding was obtained for the project. he preparation of the construction drawings for the first of the four phases began late in the year. II (2001) III I Z 54 Zone 54 (2001) he second of two enry ounty/artinsville joint enterprise zones encompasses a total of 3455.68 acres. ithin enry ounty there are two noncontiguous areas of 2,934.02 acres. large portion is located in the outhwestern part of the ounty which borders a portion of the orfolk outhern railroad, and the other area encompasses a large commercial and retail district near the middle of the ounty and contains a 1206 acre tract for future development. he city s zone area includes 521.66 acres of vacant industrial properties, commercial & retail areas, and several under-utilized industrial buildings. he city and county are developing a regional industrial park in the outhwestern area of the ounty s portion of the zone near the irginia orth arolina border.
