GAME ASSEMBLY NEW HAMPSHIRE A game development community in Manchester, New Hampshire
GAME ASSEMBLY NEW HAMPSHIRE Game Assembly New Hampshire (GANH) is a passionate group of video game developers who plan to transform New Hampshire into a hub for the video game industry. As part of this plan, GANH is building a space in which professionals, hobbyists and student developers can work side by side. GANH is seeking support from local businesses and universities to provide an excellent work space. GANH will provide unique marketing and other opportunities to its sponsors.
OPPORTUNITY The video game industry is massively profitable, earning $67 billion in revenue a year with a projected $82 billion by the end of 2017. In areas with strong game developer communities, there is a higher demand for industry talent. Existing hubs, such as Massachusetts, Montreal & California, draw in tech-savvy workers from all over the world (including New Hampshire). Additionally, these states use tax cuts and their pre-existing game communities to keep companies instate. For New Hampshire, this presents a unique opportunity for growth, where there are already low taxes and a minimal cost of living, but... the community does not yet exist. With the games industry expanding this is prime time for NH to enter this space. With multiple game design colleges and a handful of small game development companies, an industry can be built with very little investment. Game Assembly New Hampshire, a community of game developers, seeks to build a non-profit organization whose goal will be to develop a video game industry in New Hampshire. By supporting game development in the state, GANH can help foster the creation of new video game studios, build a new high-tech job market for New Hampshire & create unique opportunities for students. BY THE NUMBERS 130 15 + 40+ game development students currently enrolled in New Hampshire colleges and universities. professional game developers working full-time in New Hampshire. the attendance of the first two game developer meetings in New Hampshire
