1 Marketing, Communications and Corporate Affairs (MCA) MCA Graduate Trainee Job Description The MCA Graduate Trainee will be involved in developing marketing campaigns to promote a product, service or idea. The role includes planning, advertising, public relations, organising events, product development, distribution, sponsorship and research. The work is targeted to be challenging, varied and exciting. Graduate Training Scheme Format Induction: an introduction to the business, structure and culture of NSN Location: one of the main office locations for MCA - at the Fleet office in the UK Training: work place skills including project management, people management, decision making, negotiation and communication skills across regional marketing, corporate marketing, internal communications, analyst relations, media relations & portfolio marketing Professional Qualification throughout the scheme: relevant marketing and training courses will be provided Mentoring: a mentor will be assigned o mentor's role is to offer valuable ongoing advice on career goals and how best to achieve them and with whom the graduate trainee can share thoughts and ideas to provide additional support Completion: Once successfully completed, NSN will place graduate trainee in the role that feels most comfortable for the individual s skills and attributes, e.g. a junior managerial role, with the opportunity to fulfill potential by quickly progressing through the organisation Benefits: intense training, development and support possible fast track to more responsible roles within the organisation networking throughout the organisation during training period provides excellent platform to start a career in marketing

2 access to a mentor to offer full support provides invaluable access to each area of marketing and the issues and responsibilities faced by each function opportunity to be trained on the job and gain additional professional qualifications Responsibilities & Skills There are many different areas of marketing and the responsibilities of a marketing graduate trainee will offer a lot of variety. For example, within online marketing, tasks may include designing and refining websites, portals and campaigns, facilitating media and analyst meetings, coordinating affiliate marketing strategies. Other areas will focus on perfecting a branding strategy, brokering strategic alliances or researching product and portfolio options. The MCA Graduate Trainees needs to be very responsive to market feedback, quick to learn new skills and adapt to changes. They also need to be extremely technologically savvy and have an understanding of the telecommunications market. Typical Work Activities MCA Graduate Trainee will be tasked to contribute to, and develop, integrated marketing campaigns. Tasks typically involve: liaising and networking with a range of internal stakeholders including sales, marketing, and product management, as well as externally with marketing agencies, media, industry analysts and possibly partner organisations communicating with target audiences and managing internal relationships managing the production of marketing materials, including leaflets, posters, flyers, newsletters, e-newsletters etc writing and proofreading copy arranging for the effective distribution of marketing materials organising and attending events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions

3 conducting market research such as customer questionnaires and analyst research contributing to, and developing, marketing plans and strategies evaluating marketing campaigns monitoring competitor activity supporting the marketing manager and other colleague Marketing Rotation Areas: Regional Marketing Contributes to customer relationship on operative level Provides professional support to customer relationship and Sales Organization Acts as a contact point for selected customers Creates demand for products and\or solutions by supporting the development of business opportunities Identifies products and\or solutions to meet customer needs at an optimum profitability Acts as a source of expertise for others in own product\sales area Understands key business drivers and uses this knowledge to focus on work Corporate Marketing Provides assistance in on development and implementation of marketing communications projects and programs. Provides professional support to marketing function and/or Marketing Managers in operative marketing and process implementation. Contributes to the implementation of marketing messages Is responsible for smaller projects and/or parts of campaigns according to the set guidelines Understands the relationships between own work and the marketing processes Proactively works for improving the quality of implementation of marketing processes.

4 Runs 3 designated projects within corporate marketing from start to finish o Work with the regions o Gather competitive research and gain market knowledge o Clear deliverables at the end of each project Internal Communications Contributes to the development of communications plans\material and executes NSN's communications activities on a unit\project\topic basis Provides specialist expertise and consultancy from own area to peers and more widely to communications development work Develops communications content for relevant target audiences and channels, and executes plans accordingly Develops communications plans, processes, procedures and tools Understands the relationship between own work and communications processes and works proactively for improving the implementation of processes Considered as trustworthy beholder and deliverer of fact-based information on the company and its businesses Analyst Relations Assists in the communication of analyst information through appropriate internal channels Explore all subscribed analyst information for NSN relevant information Audit NSN sales on how they currently gather analyst information and how this information is being used in the sales process Educate internal people on how to use Singlepoint and analyst reports Assist with financial relations as appropriate managing content toolkits for use with the press and analyst communities Support key press and analyst events with content and co-ordination Media Relations Assists in the implementation of marketing messages through appropriate media

5 responsible for day-to-day administration and co-ordination to ensure smooth-running of projects and/or campaigns Understands the basic relationships between own work and marketing processes Support press releases and other forms of media communication as well as company-wide PR approval process, working with various groups within NSN Assist in article writing, both technical and thought leadership business orientated Assist in on-line newsroom Portfolio Marketing: Supports product marketing function in implementation of marketing messages for all NSN portfolio areas Assists in the delivery of sales argumentations Assists in maintaining sales satisfaction with respect to relevant portfolio marketing material Develops basic skills in product marketing practices and procedures and technical skills Supports NSN product and system solutions sales and marketing in specific technology area with defined customers and/or prospects Sales and marketing support in product and solutions level o A working knowledge in sales and technology area o Sales and marketing support to others in product/sales area o Understanding client needs, identifying solutions to non-standard queries o Awareness of internal/ external business issues Supports competitive positioning and relevant market intelligence o Collects market information, requests source data from relevant contributors o Provides basic communications material and does background preparation for use by all team members Assist in coordination of product/feature/application planning and/or specification and limited range of products and applications
