General Information The Institute dates back to 1804 when the Department of Philology opened its doors to students of Kazan Imperial University Employs 380 professors and faculty members: 64 full professors and 215 assistant and associate professors with PhDs Hosts about 3 000 students, over 100 master and doctoral students
Specialization Trains experts in linguistics, literature, Russian, Tatar and foreign languages (English, French and Spanish), interpreting and translating, design, music, choreography, educators for secondary schools and universities

Russian as a Foreign Language Developed specifically for international students Range of programs: bachelor and master programs, short-term training + for professional development and visiting scholars Over 30 years of experience teaching all language proficiency levels Currently teach students from 12 countries Courses: Russian (speaking practice, phonetics, stylistics, grammar), Russian Culture, Russian for Special Purposes (economics, mass media, business, etc.)
Joint Programs 1. Bachelor degree program in Philology: French Joint program with University of Paris-III: Sorbonne Nouvelle Student exchange: study in a partner university for at least one semester in the last year of program Exchange of teaching faculty French professors teach courses in innovative methods of text argumentation 2. International Cooperation Institute hosts over 250 international students from 19 countries including China, Turkey, Iran, Vietnam, France, Republic of Korea, Yemen, Tadzhikstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan. Hosts over 20 scientific conferences on the themes related to language, literature, intercultural communication and arts Participates in international projects including TEMPUS programs (European Union), joint programs with Giessen University (Germany), DAAD academic exchange services (Germany), Erasmus, SUNY COIL Center, etc.
