Graduates of Bachelor, Master and Specialist degree programmes Deadline: June 1, 2016 Step1 Step 2 Study the IKBFU website, choose the Institute and specialty that appeals to you most Prepare your application. It should include: 1. Filled in application form 2. Scan of your travel pass (main page) 3. Notarized translation of the main page of your travel pass (into Russian) 4. Scans of your education certificates and diplomas: For Master studies: Copy of your School Leaving Certificate / Diploma of Secondary Education Completion Copy of your Bachelor/Specialist Diploma For PhD studies: Copy of your School Leaving Certificate / Diploma of Secondary Education Completion Copy of your Bachelor Diploma* Copy of your Master Diploma* *or a Specialist Diploma (in case you have obtained a Specialist s Degree) 5. Notarized translation of your education certificates and diplomas Step 3 Send your application (in one pdf file) to the international-study@kantiana.ru till June 1. Step 4 Wait for further instructions and comments from the Division for International Programmes of IKBFU Step 5 Wait for the decision on your enrollment. The decision will be published by July 31, Step 6 In case you are enrolled you will receive a letter of enrollment and a visa invitation. Please, apply for a Russian visa immediately. After you get your visa book tickets to Kaliningrad and inform Division for International Programmes about the date and time of your arrival (via international-study@kantiana.ru). Step 7 Arrive in Kaliningrad by September 1 and start your studies. Do not forget to bring the originals of all application documents with you! 5 ANNEX 3 Short-Term Study Programme Immanuel Kant s Philosophy in Modern Socio-Cultural Environment Duration: 1 semester Application Deadlines: October 30 (summer semester); May 31 (winter semester) Study Load: 15 ECTS (shortened module) or 30 ECTS (full module) Programme Description: Module Immanuel Kant s Philosophy in Modern Socio-Cultural Environment is an interdisciplinary one and includes 4 study sections, as well as preparation and defense of a research project. Study Sections: 1. Section in Philosophy 10 ECTS; 2. Russian as a Foreign Language 4 ECTS; 3. Intermediate Test 1 ECTS; 15 ECTS 4. Socio-Cultural Section 7 ECTS 5. The main objective of the course is to develop speaking and listening skills on the basis of texts of different styles and genres (publicist, popular academic, and folklore). Therefore, foreign students are engaged in learning not only the language, but also Russian culture and traditions. Foreign students who have completed the course based on the basic educational programme (A2) are expected: to know basic phonetic and intonation rules of the Russian language, as well as the rules of modern Russian pronunciation; main types of word-formation models and functional features of parts of speech within the Russian language; different ways to express the meaning in simple and complex sentences; to be able to understand the whole content of a simple audiotext; to achieve the necessary levels of understanding in different fields and situations of communication in accordance with social and behavioral features of communication; to understand and read texts of different genres, extract basic information from the text, define its theme and general idea, as well as propose a logical scheme of the plot development; to create written texts in accordance with the communicative situations of the basic level; to produce monologues of different types and genres, as well as dialogues based on a variety of strategies and tactics of communication; to master ways of language application for the formation of oral and written statements in social and domestic, as well as social and cultural situations; methods of monologue and dialogue creation applied in social and domestic, as well as social and cultural situations. Foreign students who have completed the course based on the advanced educational programme (B1-B2) are expected: to know main rules of verbal behaviour in typical communication situations within social and domestic, social and cultural, academic, and business fields; to be able to understand the whole content of a training and authentic audiotext; to extract main information from the written text, define its theme and general idea, propose a logical scheme of the plot development, define essential and non-essential information, and understand explicit attitude of an author; to achieve the necessary levels of understanding in different fields and situations of communication in accordance with social and behavioral features of communication; to understand and read texts of different genres, extract basic information from the text, define its theme and general idea, as well as propose a logical scheme of the plot development; to embody speech intentions, implement communicative objectives, and specify details of an interlocutor s message; to create written texts of different styles and genres; to master ways of language application for the formation of oral and written statements in social and domestic, as well as social and cultural situations; methods of monologue and dialogue creation applied in different genres of academic and official-business functional styles.
