AGH University of Science and Technology: TYPES OF DOCUMENTS CERTIFYING THE KNOWLEDGE OF A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH LANGUAGE INFORMATION) 1. Diplomas of completion of: a) studies in philology in the field of foreign languages and applied linguistics; b) a foreign language teacher training college; c) the National School of Public Administration (KSAP). 2. A document issued abroad and confirming the holding of an academic degree or an academic title - certifies the knowledge of the language of the institution performing education. 3. A document confirming the completion of university-level or post-graduate studies conducted abroad or in the Republic of Poland - certifies the knowledge of the language,provided that the only language of instruction was a foreign language. 4. A document issued abroad and considered equivalent to the Polish school-leaving certificate - certifies the knowledge of the language of instruction. 5. International Baccalaureate Diploma. 6. European Baccalaureate Diploma. 7. Certificate of passing a ministerial exam [egzamin resortowy]: a) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; 1

2 b) in the ministry directed by the minister competent for economical issues, the Ministry of Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries, Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Maritime Economy. c) in the Ministry of National Defence - level 3333, level 4444 according to STANAG A certificate confirming the knowledge of a foreign language, issued by KSAP as a result of a linguistic verification procedure. 9. A certificate confirming job qualification for high-ranked government position, issued by KSAP. 10. A document confirming the entry into the Record of Sworn Translators. 11. This course will be paid for by Vice-Rector. If the students have certificates confirming English B2 level competence, they can begin their studies at once. 6. Jagiellonian University in Krakow: for the studies of first cycle, second cycle and long cycle the level of English knowledge is B2 and for the third cycle B2+, according to European Framework of Reference for Languages. 9. Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa: Students taking courses in the frame of program should know English language communicatively. No exam is required but would be welcome. 10. The minimum English language skills requirement for international students at 2 nd cycle and those wishing to study English philology is TELC B2, Cambridge CAE, TOEFL 550 points (paper exam). 14. Poznan University of Medical Sciences: Poznan University of Medical Sciences requires written proof of English proficiency for candidates who have not completed at least one year of their education in full-time mode in the English language with scores original or a copy 6

7 certified by a notary public. The possible document may be any English proficiency standardized test, e.g., TOEFL passed at the following levels depending on the testing mode: a. Internet-based 79 points b. Computer-based 213 points or IELTS exam passed with no less than 6,5 points, or a written confirmation from school about a candidate s proficiency in English. 19. University of Warsaw: B2. Also, UW offers courses of the English language preparing Ss to study at UW. 25. Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW: The candidates are obliged to provide one of the following documents certifying their knowledge of English on B2 level or higher according to global scale of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: learning, teaching, assessment (CEFR). 9 26. Warsaw University of Technology: It is required to have an upper intermediate English language certificate* (B2 level) such as FCE, IELTS (6.0 points), IBT (87points), TOFL (510 points). There are two exceptions when candidates do not need to present any language proficency certificate: if candidate is from an English speaking country, previous education (last school or university) was conducted fully in English language. * KEEP IT MIND: If you are missing or having trouble in obtaining one or more required document, you can always ask us to issue an OPINION 27. Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences: Veterinary Medicine: English language certificate that proves a good command of both written and spoken English (FCE, CAE, CPE, TOEFL, IELTS) or any other document that certifies reasonable proficiency in English. Horticulture: B2. Applicants must achieve a CEFR B2 level of English. Modern Agriculture: B2. Applicants must achieve a CEFR B2 level of English. MA Program: Laboratory Techniques in Biology: B2. Applicants must achieve a CEFR B2 level of English or any document that certifies reasonable proficiency in English. PhD programmes at the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences: Program Committee makes final decision on each application based on the completed application materials and if it is needed results of the interview with the candidate. 28.
