Overview Vonage Business Mobile provides access to your Vonage phone service on the go. Conduct business from anywhere, update personal settings, and stay connected without missing a call. Vonage Business Mobile for Android is also a VoIP softphone. You can use a Wi-Fi internet connection to make and receive calls without using cellular data. When Wi-Fi is not available, you can use your cellular data connection for calls. Signing In After downloading the app from the Google Play store, sign in with your Vonage username and password. 6

Softphone Setup VoIP Calling By using the Vonage Business Mobile softphone, you can make and receive calls through your Vonage account. Outbound calls display the caller ID associated with your Vonage account. Softphone functionality requires a Wi-Fi or 3G/4G connection. Important VoIP over 3G/4G Notice: Some cellular carriers may impose additional fees or charges and/or prohibit or restrict use of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) on their network. Be sure to check the terms of your agreement with your carrier. Vonage will not be held liable for any charges, fees, or liability imposed by your cellular carrier for use of Vonage Business Mobile. 8
Softphone Setup Getting Ready Once Vonage Business Mobile is installed on your Android device, make sure Wi-Fi and Cellular are set up correctly. Wi-Fi Setup From the main Android Screen, tap Settings > Wireless & networks, and look at the Wi-Fi field. If it has a checkmark and a message such as Connected to {network name}, then your phone has a Wi-Fi connection. Go to Cellular Setup below. If it has no checkmark and the line Turn on Wi-Fi, then tap the field to turn on Wi-Fi and wait for the message Connected to {network name}. If the message does not appear, tap Wi-Fi settings (the next field). On the Wi-Fi settings screen, tap the desired network and complete the popup that appears. The message Connected will appear. Cellular (3G/4G) Setup From the main Android screen, tap Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Turn Data On. TIP: We strongly recommend that you perform initial setup from within a known network such as your office Wi-Fi TIP: When outside the US, avoid cellular data roaming charges by turning off data roaming and using Wi-Fi. Since calls are billed through Vonage, you won t have additional roaming charges. NOTE: Sound quality is subject to Wi-Fi or 3G/4G signal strength and available bandwidth. 9
Softphone Setup Incoming VoIP Call Setup Vonage Business Mobile can be configured to alert you to incoming calls even when the app is in the background. Enabling Incoming Call Behavior ensures all incoming calls to your Vonage phone number ring through the mobile application. However, while this setting provides better inbound call consistency, there may be some impact on battery life. To enable Incoming VoIP Calls 1. Tap the Settings icon. 2. Tap Telephony. 3. Tap to turn on VoIP Calling. 4. Toggle on VoIP Calls to establish your VoIP network connection. 5. Toggle on Incoming Call Behavior. Choose Network Settings Wi-Fi + 3G/4G - Make and receive calls on both Wi-Fi and 3G/4G data networks. The app will choose Wi-Fi first if both networks are detected. Wi-Fi Only - Make and receive calls when connected to a Wi-Fi network. This is a popular option for international travelers. 3G/4G Only - Make and receive calls only in 3G/4G coverage areas. 10

Dialer VoIP Connection Status The current status of the VoIP connection is visible on the Dialer screen. A green VoIP icon indicates the connection is currently active. A gray VoIP icon indicates the connection is inactive. VoIP Active VoIP Inactive NOTE: When VoIP Calls are enabled (under Settings), the application will actively attempt to maintain the connection. 12

Dialer Non-VoIP Calling - Call Back Feature If a data connection is not available, you can still make outbound calls. The Call Back feature rings your mobile device and connects to the destination number using your cellular network. The outbound caller ID associated with your Vonage account will display. When this feature is used, the following experience occurs in the application: Call Back Sequence 14
Dialer 3-Way Call While on a call, tap the Phone icon to initiate a 3-way call. Select one of your contacts or dial another number. Once the second call is placed, tap Merge to join the calls. 15
Incoming Calls When the app is open, incoming Vonage calls ring through Vonage Business Mobile and appear as an alert. Vonage Business Mobile must have VoIP Calls enabled and an active network connection to receive calls. Also, the app must have Incoming Call Behavior enabled to receive calls while the app is minimized. 16
Contacts Status Icons The Company Directory acts as a dashboard displaying each users status. 17
Contacts Calling a Contact Tap to call any contact or Vonage extension. 18
Contacts Contact Filter The Contacts feature provides a filter for quick access to Android contacts, the Company Directory, Conference Bridges, and Call Queues. TIP: Use the refresh icon if contacts do not display immediately 19

Voicemail Listening to Messages If voicemail transcription is enabled for your extension, you can read the contents of the message without playing it. Otherwise, tap the Play button to listen to your message. 21
Voicemail Deleting Messages Voicemails can be deleted through the app. Once a message is deleted it is no longer accessible through the online user interface, mobile app, Desktop app, or a physical desk phone. 22

Settings Extensions Vonage Business Mobile provides access to all extensions currently assigned to the user logged in to the application. This extension list allows the user to customize settings per extension. 27
Settings Extensions Call Screening Call Screening allows you to configure your extension so each call is announced using the recorded name of the caller. 28
Settings Extensions Extension Settings Call Announce Call Announce plays the custom tag associated with the option the caller chooses or number they dialed. 29

Settings Extensions Never Miss a Call Settings Forward All Calls Designate a phone number or extension where all incoming calls will be forwarded. 34
Settings Extensions Never Miss a Call Follow Me Add up to five (5) phone numbers or extensions that are called sequentially before sending the caller to the voicemail of your choice. 35
Settings Extensions Never Miss a Call Settings Simultaneous Ring Add up to five (5) phone numbers or extensions that will ring together when a call is received. If not answered, the caller will be sent to your voicemail. 36
Settings Extensions Never Miss a Call Settings Do Not Disturb Send a call directly to voicemail without ringing a specific phone number or device. 37
Settings Extensions Never Miss a Call Settings Caller ID On Forwarded Calls Caller ID on Forwarded Calls enables you to pick the caller ID number that displays on forwarded calls. You can pick the originating caller ID of the caller or any number on your Vonage account. 38
Settings Extensions Voicemail Settings Voicemail settings allow you to configure your voicemail PIN, voicemail-to-email, and record greetings. 39
Settings Extensions Voicemail Settings Mailbox PIN Change the PIN number that is requested when accessing voicemail. 40
Settings Extensions Voicemail Settings Out of Office When turned on, incoming calls sent to voicemail will hear the Out of Office greeting. This overrides both Unavailable and Busy greetings. 41
Settings Extensions Voicemail Settings Voicemail to Email Address To receive an email containing an.mp3 attachment of each voicemail message, turn on the Send to Email option. 42
Settings Extensions Voicemail Settings Delete on Email If this option is enabled, voicemails are automatically deleted from the Vonage account as soon as they are sent to the email address. Once a message is deleted it is no longer accessible through the online user interface, mobile app, Desktop app, or a physical desk phone. 43
Settings Extensions Voicemail Settings Greetings Record any of your four customizable greetings using the mobile app. Name Greeting This greeting only plays if your account is configured with a dial-by-name directory. When callers enter your name through the directory, the name greeting plays to confirm they have dialed correctly. Unavailable Greeting This greeting will play if the call is not answered and the phone is not in-use. Busy Greeting This greeting will play if your phone is on Do Not Disturb, or if you receive a call while the phone is in-use. Out of Office Greeting When Out of Office is enabled, this greeting will play in place of the Unavailable and Busy greetings. To revert to your original Unavailable and Busy greetings you must turn off Out of Office (See page 41 for Out of Office Settings). 44
Settings Extensions Device Settings Vonage Business Mobile enables you to view all of the devices currently associated with your extension. By selecting any device on this page, you can: Change the device active status between On and Off View the name assigned to the device View the device type View the MAC Address assigned to the device View the SIP User assigned to the device 45
Settings Extensions Recording Settings If you have On-Demand Call Recording for your extension, the Recording section will be available. Record All Calls - Enabling this option will record all calls. Disclaimer - An audible beep will play every 15 seconds when the disclaimer is enabled. There are both federal and state laws governing call recording. You should consult your own legal counsel for advice as to whether you are permitted to record your company s telephone calls, and if so, what notification you are requested to include on the call and what consent you must obtain. 46
Settings Extensions Block Caller ID Enable Block Caller ID to hide your caller ID on outbound calls. 47

Settings Telephony Cell Number If you make an outbound call without VoIP Calling enabled, the Call Back feature will prompt you to enter your cell number. Your cell number is stored in this section. 49
