Mobile Unified Communications User Guide About Mobile UC Currently, the following five Droid Phones are supported for Mobile UC: + Droid X + Droid X2 + Droid 2 Global + Droid 2 + Droid Pro Note: Additional Android Smartphone devices will be added to the compatibility list as tested and approved. PBX s Supported The two Communications Systems (aka PBX) that are currently supported by the Verizon Wireless Mobile U client are Cisco (6.1.4+) and Avaya (5.2+) IP Communication Manager: Cisco Unified Communications Manager & above, & above and 8.0 & above; with the following features enabled, and configured: 1. Mobile Connect 2. Mobile Voice Access 3. Enterprise Feature Access with Two-Stage Dialing 4. Simultaneous ring Avaya - Communication Manager 5.2 and above 1. Support EC500 (Extension to Cellular) feature. 2. Platform to support SIP devices (SIP Enablement Server required to provide SIP services) - Mobile UC is a SIP device. 3. DHCP Services to support option 224 (voice VLAN assignment) Getting Started In order to start using Mobile UC client, you must be subscribed to the service, download the Mobile UC client from the VCAST Apps Marketplace, and be provisioned by your Communications Manager System Administrator. Once you have been provisioned, a configuration file will be generated which you will need in order to start using the service. This file can be copied to your device via the USB connection, ed, or placed on a server for automatic configuration with a docking station. Mobile UC icon will appear on mobile device upon successful download. Mobile UC 2

Installation Downloading the client from VCAST store The Mobile UC client can be downloaded from the VCAST Apps Marketplace on your phone or from vzw.com/vcastapps. When accessing the VCAST Apps Marketplace from your phone, your device type will be automatically detected and the correct version of Mobile UC will be downloaded. You may be prompted asking for permission to allow the VCAST Apps as a trusted source, which you should allow. If you are having trouble, please contact your CM System Administrator. Mobile UC client has a monthly recurring subscription charge that begins billing once client is downloaded from VCAST. The monthly charge is $7.00 and this will appear on Verizon Wireless bill. To remove Mobile UC client and discontinue charges, you must remove Mobile UC Application from the mobile device. To remove Application and stop billing 1. Go to Apps on the my device, which opens up VCAST Apps 2. Click on MY Apps 3. Select Mobile UC Client, then uninstall 4. You must also remove Mobile UC daemon, which can also be found in My Apps. 3

Setup and Configuring the Mobile UC client Your phone number needs to be provisioned by your PBX system administrator and the software downloaded before you can setup and configure the Mobile UC client. The first step requires you to accept the Terms and Conditions. 4

There are three ways to configure Mobile UC on your device. 1. Automatic Configuration - Installing with the Mobile UC docking station Automatic configuration, using a dock, is the easiest way to configure Mobile UC. Once you are provisioned and have downloaded Mobile UC from the VCAST storefront, the first time you dock, you will be prompted for your authentication credentials, consisting of a User ID and Password. This information should be provided by your system administrator. If you do not have this information please contact your system administrator. After entering your User ID and Password, Mobile UC should be configured and you should see the Mobile UC Home Screen shown below. 2. Import Configuration File If you do not have a docking station or want to start using Mobile UC while undocked you can setup the service by importing the configuration file that you received from your System Administrator. This file is specific to your phone numbers (business and mobile numbers) and should be saved to your device. After installing Mobile UC from the VCAST storefront, you will be prompted to Setup Mobile UC. On the Device Setup screen select the Import option. Once the file has been downloaded to your device please select Check for config file. 5

3. Manual Configuration This method of configuring should only be done if you System Administrator has instructed you to manually configure the service. To manually configure Mobile UC you need to know your Enterprise Access Number, Mobile Telephone Number, Access PIN, Enterprise Phone number, Enterprise VM Pilot Number, extension dialing length, PSTN Access Code, PBX Type and enterprise feature access codes. This information should be obtained from your System Administrator. Enter the required information when prompted and if all information has been entered correctly Mobile UC will be installed and ready for use. Note: To manually configure Mobile UC, contact your System Administrator for the correct settings. After you have configured the service you can learn about and customize Mobile UC through the setup wizard. It is recommended that you use the Mobile UC Home screen as your default home screen when using the docking station. 6

In some cases, updates will be required in order to continue using Mobile UC. When this occurs, you will be prompted to download the update. Using widgets Widgets allows you to easily select and change your calling preferences while undocked. There are two Mobile UC widgets: Default Call Type and Quick Call. We recommend installing and using these widgets to easily change your calling preferences. To setup widgets, touch and hold an empty area of the home screen, select Android widgets and then select the Mobile UC widgets you wish to install. To remove widgets, touch and hold on the widget and drag the desired widget to the trash can icon on your phone. Mobile UC Call Type Default Call Type allows you to select your default for placing calls as business, mobile or receive a prompt each time. + Always Place from Business dials all undocked calls using your Business line + Always place from Mobile dials all undocked calls using your VZW mobile line + Always ask me will display a prompt each time you place a call so that you can select your call type + Do not use Mobile UC gives to the ability to turn Mobile UC off and will use the native dialer on your phone. Mobile UC Quick Call Quick Call allows you to place your next outgoing call using the opposite call type from your default without changing your default call type setting. Using Mobile UC While Undocked When undocked, you may only use your phone in portrait mode, similar to using the dialer on your phone. All undocked calls use the Verizon Wireless network. All incoming calls while undocked are treated as mobile calls. Mobile calls are shown in green and Business calls are shown in blue. 7

Features Answering calls While undocked, all incoming mobile and business calls will display the incoming caller ID information; however, only mobile features will be available when receiving calls (Business features such as conference and transfer are not supported). You also have the capability to receive a 2nd incoming call. When receiving a second incoming call, you will only be able to switch between calls; you will not be able to merge the calls together. When switching between calls, the other call will be automatically placed on hold. You can have a maximum of two separate calls. Placing calls With Mobile UC you can either dial the 10-digit number or the extension of the person you are trying to reach, similar to using your desk phone. Additionally, you can place both mobile and business calls while undocked. We recommend installing the Mobile UC widgets to allow you to easily change your calling preferences. Mobile calls are shown in blue and Business calls are shown in green. When placing a Business call, the Business line caller ID will be displayed and you will have access to your business line features. When placing a Mobile call, your wireless number will be displayed as the caller ID. All undocked calls use the Verizon Wireless network. All 911 calls will be placed using your mobile number. Business features are only applicable when a call is placed using the Business mode. You can have a maximum of two separate calls. If both lines are in use, the New Line button will not be available. Switching Between Calls If you are on more than one call, you can switch between active calls by pulling down the notification area, or selecting the Switch button to switch between calls. This option is only available if there are two lines and the 2nd call was received. The other call will automatically be placed on hold when switching between calls. Merging Calls Mobile UC allows you to Merge, or combine, two calls while you are undocked when you have place the 2nd call. You can also merge conference calls. To merge calls, select the Merge button. The last call added to the merge can be ended by selecting End Last Call. Once calls are merged, conference and transfer are not available. Muting To mute a call, press the on screen Mute button while on a call. Green indicates that the call is currently muted. This state will be maintained when docking and undocking. Placing a call on hold Whenever you switch lines, conference transfer or add another caller, your current call is automatically placed on hold. When you select a call that is on hold it will automatically make that call active and place any other calls on hold. Calls that are on hold are displayed with a red indicator. Active calls are displayed with a green indicator. Music on hold is set up by your System Administrator. When you take a call off hold, mute will be turned off. 8

Transferring a call Mobile UC allows you to transfer an outbound business call with the choice of whether to Talk First, Transfer the call or Transfer to Voic . To transfer a call, select the Transfer button while on a call, enter or select the number from your Call Log, Contacts, or Favorites and select whether you wish to talk first, transfer without talking, or transfer to voic . When selecting to Talk First you must then select Complete Transfer or Cancel Transfer on the resulting screen to complete the action. Transfer is not available when both lines are already in use. Placing a conference call Mobile UC allows you to create conference calls when you place an outbound business call. You can place up to a 4-way call when making an undocked Business call and merging the calls. You have the ability to talk to the person dialed and switch between calls before adding them to the call. To create a conference call, select the Conference button while on a call, enter the number that you wish to add and after they have picked up, press the Complete Conference with... button. If you wish to cancel the conference call, press the Cancel Conf button. Pressing the End Call button will end all calls. Note that this feature is only available when placing an outbound business call. Conference calling is not available when both lines are already in use. Transfer is not available during a Conference Call. Shared (Bridged) Lines Mobile UC allows you access your shared lines (also known as bridged call appearances) when both docked and undocked. This feature is supported only for business lines. (Note: this feature is not available in the first release but will be in the near future.) Voic is only available on your primary line. Retrieving Voic If you miss a call while undocked, messages will be left in either your mobile or business mailboxes depending on the number that was dialed by the calling party. When you are docked, calls to both your mobile and business lines will be sent to your business voic . Speakerphone and Headset The speaker phone can be turned on and off using the Speaker button on the screen. The speaker and headset are mutually exclusive. Turning on one will automatically turn the other off. The one that is shown in green is currently active. 911 Calls While undocked, all 911 calls placed from your mobile device will be made as wireless calls using your mobile telephone number. While docked, all 911 calls are handled by the Enterprise PBX policies and will be placed using your business line. Using Mobile UC While Docked Mobile UC supports a docking station that allows you to easily configure your device and supports corporate directory search. The docking station also provides a handset, keypad, full duplex speaker phone, capability to attach a headset, Do Not Disturb, and an indicator with a one button press for your business voic . Support for Bluetooth is not available when docked. Data access and all of your 3rd party mobile applications are still accessible through the mobile network when docked. 9

All calls dialed and received will use your business line. While docked, calls to mobile number are forwarded to your business line and all outgoing calls are made using your business line. You can use your device in either orientation, with the exception of the Droid Pro which is a Portrait-only device. A maximum of three lines are supported when docked based on the configuration provided by your system administrator. When docking, the Mobile UC Home Screen will be displayed. These options can be customized by either selecting a button and holding it down to assign another shortcut function or selecting the Add button to quickly assign a shortcut to a Mobile UC feature, application, or favorite contact. The icon on the phone button will pulse when call is in progress and the Voic button will pulse when you have a message. To access other device features while docked, press the Options then Exit button. When you want to return to Mobile UC, press the Home button. The status for each of your lines is displayed in the notifications area at the top. Each available phone line is represented by a circle with a status (available, active, on hold, and do not disturb). Indicator(s) will be displayed when your mobile calls are forwarded, you have a voic or missed calls. Features Answering calls Answering incoming calls is the same as regardless of how many calls are currently active. You have the option to Answer or Decline each call. Declined calls will be indicated by a blinking green indicator until the call is ended or sent to your Business Voice Mail. Once you have used all your available lines the caller id information of the incoming call will be displayed but you will not be able to answer the call. When docked, all calls made to your mobile number will be forwarded to your Business number so you won t miss a call. If the call goes unanswered, the call will go to your business voice mailbox, rather than your mobile voic . 10

Placing a call While docked, all dialed calls will use your business line and will not use your Verizon Wireless minutes. Note in Business identity mode, a 1 is required before all non-extension dial calls. Placing a second or third outgoing call To place a call while you are already on a call, select the New Line button. This will automatically place your current call(s) on hold while placing a new call. Active calls are indicated by a green light next to the call and an arrow below the line. Calls on hold are indicated by a red light. Call Log While the phone is docked, all calls will be displayed in the call log. Calls are indicated by received, placed, and missed call icons. From the call log, you have the ability to return a call, view or edit the contact if they are in your contact list, send a text message, add/remove from speed dial or remove from the caller log. Through the settings menu you also have the option to clear your call log. Directory Lookup Pressing the Contacts button on either the screen or dock will display your Contact list which allows you to search both your local and company directories. Muting To mute a call, press the on screen Mute button while on a call. When the indicator is Green, the call is currently muted. This state will be maintained when docking and undocking. Placing a call on hold Whenever you switch lines, conference, transfer or add another caller, your current call is placed on hold. When you select a call that is on hold it will automatically make that call active and place any other calls on hold. Calls that are on hold are displayed with a red indicator. Active calls are displayed with a green indicator. Music on hold is set up by your System Administrator. When you take a call off hold, mute will be turned off. 11

Transferring a call Mobile UC allows you to transfer calls with the choice of whether to Talk First, Transfer without talking first or send the call to Voice Mail. To transfer a call, press the Transfer on screen button, either enter the number you wish to transfer the call to or select a call from the call log or contact list, and then choose whether you want to talk first or transfer without talking. If you choose to Talk First, then when you are ready to transfer the call, select Complete Transfer. If you just want to transfer the current call to your voic , press the transfer to voic on screen button. Placing a conference call Mobile UC allows you to create conference calls. You can place up a 3-way call when making a docked Business call. You have the ability to talk to the person before adding them to the conference call. To create a Conference call, press the Conference on screen button, either enter the number you wish to add to the conference or select a call from the call log or contact list, and then press the Call button. This will connect you with the person you just dialed so that you can talk first. When you are ready to join the calls, press the Complete Conference button. At the top you will see who is currently on the conference call. Transfer capability is not available during a Conference Call. Do Not Disturb Do Not Disturb can be activated by pressing the Do Not Disturb button on the docking station. When pressed, the button should become lit and you should see an indicator at the top of the screen. When Do Not Disturb is turned on, all incoming calls will go directly to your Business Voic . This feature is only available when docked and will be automatically turned off when undocking. Shared (Bridged) Lines Shared lines is a feature that can be set up by your PBX System Administrator to allow you to answer lines assigned to other users or have your lines shared with others. When one of your shared lines is in use the line will be labelled In Use with the extension or nickname of the line being used. You can answer, transfer and conference shared lines. (Note: this feature is not available in the first release but will be in the near future.) Voic Voic is only supported on your primary business line. Business voic messages are indicated both by a blinking button on the dock and by a pulsing light on the Voic button on the home screen. Selecting the Voic button on the dock or on screen button will call your Business Voice Mail access number. Speed Dial You can assign speed dial shortcuts by pressing and holding a number button while on the dialer screen. These shortcuts are then accessible when using Mobile UC by selecting the number on the keypad that was assigned to the Speed Dial. 911 Calls While docked, all 911 calls are handled by the Enterprise PBX policies and will be placed using your business line. 12

Settings In the Mobile UC client there is an option in the settings menu which allows you to control settings for displaying the keypad, authentication, low signal notification, and screen timeout while docked. Show Dial pad when docked While docked you have the choice of displaying an on screen dial pad. When selected, the on screen dial pad will be displayed when docked. When the checkbox is unselected, the on screen dial pad will not be displayed when docked. Authentication Settings If you need to log into your system this setting allows you to enter your User ID and Password for authentication with your server. This will be required for accessing your Corporate Directory. Notify if low signal when docking Mobile UC turns off your wireless radio while docked. When the checkbox is selected, notifications will be displayed if your signal strength is low. You have the option to turn this notification off. Screen timeout While docked you have ability to set your screen timeout. Choices are 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, or the ability to never timeout. 13

Docking To dock your device, connect the device using the micro-usb supplied cable. Your phone must be in PC Mode in order to dock. When the docking process is complete, the Undock button on the dock will be orange and the Mobile UC Home Screen will be displayed. Certain features, such as Enterprise Directory lookup and Do Not Disturb are only available when docked. Docking while on a Call If you placed a call as a Business call, you can continue talking on that one call after docking by simply docking your phone. After a brief hold your call will be continued when docking has completed. All other calls must be completed before docking. Mobile UC will display screen prompts if your call cannot be continued while docked. In the following cases, calls cannot be docked: 1. If you are in the middle of a transfer, you must complete the transfer before docking or the call will be lost. 2. If you are in a conference call, you must complete the conference call before docking or the call will be lost.
