Old times 1 Farmer-museum Yli- Kirra is a 19th century Satakunta county farmhouse built in a courtyard style. Here all the living and livestock structures are located around an enclosed yard. Other structures, such as a barn, a blacksmith s shop, a hill-cabin as well as shacks and machinery sheds are outside the main yard. Yli-Kirra is a functioning farmer-museum where the visitor can empathize with the farmhouse routines and explore the development of the agriculture. Yearly, during the first weekend of July, a customary event known as the Alltime Farmer Fair takes place. During this whole-family affair, experts on old work practices bring the farmhouse back to life. Formal rooms, along with the courtyard, can be rented for parties and business meetings. Guided museum tours are available for guest groups. The museum hosts a cafeteria and the smoke sauna can be warmed up if requested. Dancing 2 Dance stage Särkkä On a scenic peninsula of Lake Vehkajärvi, sits the nation s famous, and perhaps Finland s prettiest, dance stage of Särkkä. On summer Wednesdays it is the undisputed attraction of Punkalaidun. From the beginning of June to the end of August the dance stage hosts top of the line Finnish artists, who attract dancing folk of all ages to enjoy quality music. In connection with the dance stage Särkkä, there is also a restaurant serving beer and wine. Exercise 8 The regional skicenter of Porttikallio offers a national championship level performance location in cross-country skiing and biathlon for professionals and amateurs alike. During the summers, Porttikallio lends itself to fine hiking opportunities. The exercisers at Porttikallio can use one light-up hiking-trail / ski-track as well as an abundant system of other ski-tracks. The tracks with lights are 1-2,5 kilometers in length. The exercisers can also exploit a trail that is 5 kilometers long. During the winters, skiers may speed around the 7-kilometer Tuomo s track. The illuminated biathlon shootingrange at Porttikallio has 32 targets.
