Security first Questions over how secure cloud infrastructure is litter online debates and people are inherently more trusting of a server they walk down a corridor and see with their own eyes. When comparing the security of on-site v cloud servers people need to look at the whole set-up. An in-house server can use the highest network protection, but what about other considerations? We take security seriously and have multiple layers of network and physical restrictions to prevent unauthorised access to customer information: Physical access to the data centres is restricted to authorised personnel. Anybody arriving without prior clearance is turned away. The private server infrastructure means your data stays in its own virtual environment, away from other customer s information. Information is mirrored across data centres so if something catastrophic happened at one (and it never has) you won t lose a thing. All data on your managed server is encrypted at rest. Even if someone could take the data off the hard drives it would be unreadable. If a user s mobile device goes missing, email and other cloud data can be wiped remotely.
