JENSENPOSTEN Nr. 9 - August 2014 - Members Magazine for Jensen Owners Club Norway Welcome to the 9th issue of Jensenposten, This issue is as last issue giving attention to our successful UK Tour in June to the Intl.Meeting in Milton Keynes. Editor: Harald Gulbrandsen posten@jensencars.org International meeting UK JOC = Big success 16 Norwegians looked forward to the UK trip with excitement. Most took a plane but 6 persons drove their Jensens taking ferries from Brevik/Esbjerg. And what a tour, what a meeting and so many Jensens and so many nice people from UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and many other countries. A little disappointing was that only 3 cars from Norway took the tour(we had expected more than 5). Arne Paulsen in his CV8, Torgeir Seim in his FF and Harald Gulbrandsen in his Convertible toured UK and the International. We travelled more than 2200km each during 14 days with only very minor problems. Trust your Jensen! And the weather? First day the 14.6 we had some few drops of rain, the rest of the tour was just sunshine and warm incredible! Norway Hill at Horwood house Vikings come again. Horst owns one of the worlds nicest and fastest Convertibles, see pic below. The Intl. meeting took place in Horwood house a big classic hotel where Jensen had reserved most of the parking lot. In addition to the social events and dinner dance there was arranged the annual Jensen Concours with several teams of serious judges. One could participate in 3 classes: Bronze Silver and Gold Torgeir Seim and Arne Paulsen participated both in bronze class and Torgeir won the price for best FF congratulations. Chairman Paul and a happy Harald The parking lot: More than 90 Jensen cars took part, from 541s to CV8, Interceptors, SV8 and the Healeys, GTs as well as the one off Viperceptor. Chairman of JOC Paul Lewis handing over the fine prize to Torgeir. Arne Paulsen was only few points from winning a prize for his CV8. Harald took part in the Silver Class and won 2 nd prize in the category Interceptor variants(12 contestants, coupe, convertible and SPs). Georg from Bergen with his nice convertible, nice guy! After all we were very satisfied to receive 2 prizes with 3 participating cars in real tough competition. 2

Jensen meeting late summer 2014 We plan to have a Jensen meet at Østlandet soon. Proposed dates are either august 31 st (Sætre Hurum) or september 6th (Hokksund Burud). Reserve the dates now. Ole Jon sends out a separate invitation. «New» Jensen imported from Sweden Einar Gulbrandsen one of our members found a Jensen Interceptor II in Malmø and together with Harald(dad) the car was collected and driven to Oslo. It is an early Mark II LHD with Mark I rear lights and chassis 125-5008. Original colour Brasilia brown and tan interior. The car has had several owners but many years this car has spent indoor in garages. It was first sold to Belgium in 1969. We believe this is a genuine 65000km car. The engine was originally a 383 but this was changed to a 1968 high comp 440 with 350HP. The car is very original further but need some minor repairs and a bad paint job in Sweden needs attention. It has passed MOT and is rideable. Congratulations Einar! Jensen Club in Norway recommend all our members to use Andy Kevin and Pauls unmatched service for parts, repairs, trim etc. These guys are just fantastic, well Christine too. Service is great and Andy has always a box of tricks and some special developed parts. New super thread plates with logos, Andys special. See next page.. 6
Jensen in Norway on NRK national television A camera/journalist team Petter + Petter from NRK is working on a new television series about classic cars. Jensen has been picked as one of several cars which will be presented in the series this autumn. It started with some photo shoots in Rjukan following the Mark II being overhauled/stripped by Torgeir Seim. During our trip to UK a lot of film and interviews were made with Jensens in focus. We all look forward to see the results and no doubt this will be a fantastic appraisal and marketing for us. Petter and Petter in action interviewing the owner of the best Jensen Parts for sale: 7

International Meeting UK 2014 - some thoughts 1. An International meeting - why was there no Concours Class for the longest drive? We drove 2220km from Norway and back. 2. No sales of regalia or clothing very disappointing shouldn t be too difficult, at least T-shirts and clothing. 3. No technical support of any kind would have been very good with all experts there 4. No parts swap/sales would have been nice to enjoy this 5. "Rip off" prices at the Horwood House which we later called Horror House. We were literally thrown out last day! In our opinion bad service, breakfast without enough eggs, long rows of people. Hopeless bartender etc. 6. The Dance-supper-entertainer was at best very average and buy your own wine before seating was very strange, food was average. 7. Ok music during concours but why not an ice cream, hot dog and beverage kiosk, we missed that. Four things were indeed very good: The big car park + the fantastic weather + the Jensen people and of course the great cars, yes we had lots of fun. Arne(CV8) and Harald(Convertible) 9
