Pre-Master s Programs (PMP) The new graduate pathway, Pre-Master s Pathway (PMP) offered through Navitas at FAU is designed to give you the skills to succeed in your graduate degree. The program offers study skills and research classes, as well as for-credit classes in your chosen degree. The PMP is a two-semester program approved by FAU to offer students access to futures in the College of Business, College of Engineering and Computer Science and the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science with multiple options for degree possibilities. Studying at FAU will enable you to take advantage of a research university facility near the Atlantic Ocean with 12 months of sunshine while working with academically accomplished students. For-credit undergraduate and graduate courses: The for-credit graduate courses available to PMP students shall be determined through consultation with the respective graduate department to best suit available master s programs, and may change from time to time. Not all graduate degree programs at FAU commence during all intakes and may vary slightly. Navitas Pre-Master s pathways include nine FAU graduate credits towards the degree. Average credits for master s degree programs are 30-45 credits (on average 18 months length of study). College of Engineering and Computer Science at a glance: Extensive research programs funded by business, industry and government are the hallmark of the College. Eleven research centers provide focus for college research activities. The college s 97,000-square-foot green building is the first higher education academic building in Florida designed and built to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum level standards. FAU building big data training and research lab with over $850,000 in grants upgrading existing Data Mining lab for complex bioinformatics analysis, machine condition monitoring, underwater acoustics and signal processing, video encoding, streaming data, and climate modeling. Schmidt College of Science at a glance: The largest of colleges on the FAU campus with a wide variety of courses and research opportunities for students being a major part of a broad disciplinary research team in the department. The faculty research focus areas include Geosciences, Mathematical sciences, Physics, Neuroscience, Marine Science, Environmental Science and Cellular and Developmental Biology.
