6 4 Navitas North America University pathway guide 2016/17 Navitas USA pathways Navitas USA offers an Undergraduate Pathway Program (UPP) and a Pre-Master s Program (PMP) at its five partner universities. The UPP and PMP are both designed to prepare international students for university studies in the United States. UPP The UPP is equivalent to the first year of a bachelor s degree. The UPP is a two or three semester program, consists of for-credit courses and provides an academic and cultural bridge from your high school experience to studying for a university degree in the United States. Upon successful completion of the UPP, you will move directly into the second year of your chosen degree. PMP The PMP prepares students for graduate degree courses and programs. The PMP is a one or two-semester program designed for students who have completed a bachelor s degree, but need additional academic and/ or English support to gain entry to a master s program. No GMAT or GRE is needed to apply. 8 6 Navitas North America University pathway guide 2016/17 Navitas Canada pathways Navitas Canada provides a wide range of pathway programs at ICM and FIC which are equivalent to the first year of a university degree. A Canadian degree will help you to achieve your career objectives and fulfil your personal aspirations! UTP Stage I This program is designed for students who require additional academic courses before starting a full university degree equivalent program. Entry into UTP is dependent on successful completion of Year 11 or equivalent. UTP Stage II This program is equivalent to the first year of a university degree program. Entry into UTP II is dependent upon successful completion of UTP I or satisfactory completion of Year 12 or equivalent. Entry into second year of your university degree is dependent on successful completion of 10 courses equal to 30 credit hours with a stipulated Grade Point Average (GPA). Pre-MBA (FIC only) This is a one semester program designed to prepare students for the full time MBA at Simon Fraser University. Applicants must have a bachelor s degree, work experience and complete a successful interview with the Beedie School of Business. Pre-Master s Program in Engineering (FIC only) This is a one semester program designed to prepare students for the Professional Master s in Engineering program at Simon Fraser University. Applicants must have a bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field. 9 7 Canada admissions and visa process OVERVIEW Application to Offer hours Complete online application and attached transcripts and copy of passport photo page. Offer to Acceptance Representative will receive the Letter of Offer after which the student needs to: 1. sign the Acceptance of Offer form and return it to icmanitoba.ca (ICM) or (FIC) 2. pay the tuition deposit indicated on their Letter of Offer. Applications for university residence or homestay should be made once the student decides to accept their offer. Acceptance to Visa 24 hours Once payment is made, representative will be sent Letter of Acceptance, Receipt and revised Letter of Offer. All three documents should be submitted for visa application. For details on how to apply for a study visa, go to cic.gc.ca/english/study Enrollment Three weeks before orientation students should enroll in their classes online. They will be sent detailed instructions on how to do this. Airport pick-up is available for an additional charge. CCB s marketing curriculum prepares students for a successful career in the many phases of marketing and distributing products and services throughout the global economy with a focus on consumers and acquiring information for decision making. Engineering The College of Engineering is ABET accredited and is ranked by U.S. World News & Report in the top 50 Tier 1 Regional Engineering schools in the USA. The engineering faculty offers six departments: bioengineering, civil and environmental engineering, information and computer science, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering and physics. The College of Engineering Cooperative Education and Internship program allows engineering students to gain valuable experience while earning money.
