ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will stay on the premises of the boarding school, in rooms equipped with all standard facilities - beds and sheets will be provided so there is no need to bring mattresses or sleeping bags. There is also a washing machine. During the week the meals will be served. Volunteers will work in two youth centres of the local parishes, in two groups. The daily program will include: games, sports, arts & crafts, excursions, cinema outings, playground activities, swimming-pool, and other events. ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will stay on the premises of the boarding school, in rooms equipped with all standard facilities - beds and sheets will be provided so there is no need to bring mattresses or sleeping bags. Work will be focused mainly on simple manual tasks around stables and territory of the association (repairing fences and stables, cleaning stables, cutting weeds etc.) Volunteers will also have a possibility to help in everyday care of horses which stay in the stable for the summer period (feeding, taking for a walk, cleaning etc.) ACCOMODATION: The volunteers will stay in the association's "social building". The living conditions are simple but they will have shower with hot water and toilets in the building. There is also a small kitchen. Volunteers will sleep in a common room and they are asked to bring sleeping bags and mattresses. The meals will be prepared by volunteers themselves from the products bought by the host organization. LOCATION: The project is situated in stables in a small city near Warsaw. There is a 5 minute walk to the train (name of the station: Kanie Helenowskie) that goes directly to Warsaw city center and the journey by train takes about 40 minutes. The stables are surrounded by meadows and forest which gives opportunity to spend free time on outdoor activities, organizing bonfires etc. There are places for almost 40 horses, barn, "social building" and horse paddocks. Please note that most of the horses go to the summer base so there will be only around 6 horses present during the workcamp. Work is not very difficult but it can be sometimes physically demanding. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Leaders and host organization propose to the volunteers that after the workcamp, whole group or willing volunteers, may visit association's summer base in Masuria region (60 km north-east from Warsaw) for the weekend. Willing volunteers would have to pay around 0 Euro per day for the trip (which makes around 20 EUR for the weekend) The trip is optional and will depend on how many volunteers would like to go. At the moment the Centre cares for 63 patients. Volunteers will help in organizing games, craft activities and excursions for the patients as well as assist the Centre`s staff in caring for them(e.g. feeding, walks). The presence of volunteers greatly helps in breaking the wall of social isolation that our patients experience. This social exclusion negatively influences both their physical and mental states, but thanks to our international volunteers, the patients have the opportunity to interact with different cultures, traditions and languages. ACCOMMODATION: In the building of Miedzylesie Social Care Centre. All meals will be provided by the Centre. LOCATION: Miedzylesie Social Care Center is situated in a suburb of Warsaw, capital city of Poland. It takes around 35 minutes by city transport to get to the center of Warsaw. TERMINAL: The nearest major railway station and airport are located in Warsaw ( hour ride by the public transport). SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Volunteers must be ready to work with intellectually disabled people and should have a strong motivation to do so. LOCATION: Wieliszew is situated km north of Warsaw, by the Zegrzynskie Lake and the Narew River. With its forest and lake it is a perfect place for holiday activities such as canoeing, jogging, cycling or paragliding. The service, provided from Monday to Friday between 0 AM and 3 PM, includes: games, sports, playground activities, arts and excursions. In the afternoon the volunteers will also participate in activities encouraging local youth to intercultural experiences such as Traveller Club or Tandem Meetings. ACCOMMODATION: The volunteers will live in a shared flat which contains also a kitchen and bathroom, washing machine is available. The volunteers will be preparing meals by themselves from products delivered by the organiser. Note: Sleeping bags are needed! LOCATION: Pultusk, situated on the Narew river (65 km from Warsaw), is one of the oldest Polish towns. It is famous for the longest town square in Europe but it also has a castle, gothic town hall and a number of historic churches.
