TEAM PACKETS

REGIONAL CHAMPIONS: Congratulations on winning your regional tournament. The LLSBWS Committee members are very excited to welcome you and your team to Portland, for the Little League Softball World Series. This packet contains all of the information you should need to have a successful tournament experience. If at any time, you are in doubt about any of the procedures, please see any one of our staff members for assistance. If they are not able to answer your questions, they will direct you to someone who can. Many dedicated volunteers have spent countless hours to be sure your teams have an enjoyable experience while here for the week. There are many sights to see in and around the Portland area. Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, and the Oregon coast are all a short distance away and are very worthwhile to visit. You may also choose to visit the End of the Oregon Trail center in Oregon City, or the Portland Zoo. Whatever you choose to do while not on the field, please just ask any of our staff members or your hotel staff and they can help you with directions, or suggestions. You can also visit www.oregonlive.com for the best sights in the area, and get lots of ideas for recreation. We wish all our teams the best of luck throughout the tournament, and though only one team can take home the title of World Champion, you are all Champions just by getting here. Sincerely, Bob Hudlow Tournament Director

IMMEDIATELY UPON RECEIVING THIS PACKET 1. Contact Tournament Director Bob Hudlow at: rpnahud@comcast.net to report you are the regional winner and give your Manager and Coaches shirt sizes. 2. Divide your players into groups of four (four players to a room) for their room assignments and let Bob know how many rooms you will need for your players. None of the players will be staying in a room with their parents or by themselves and no one other than players will be staying in the player room with them. 3. Email a team photo with your Regional banner and a complete line up to: Media Coordinator Cathy Workman: cayaly@yahoo.com 4. Gather your parents together and call Hotel information at the University Place Hotel and make reservations for your parents 5. Have a team parent make copies of the Model Release for each of your players, give one to each players parent and have them it fill out completely. Return these to the manager; Managers add the Model release to the documents you must bring to the LLSBWS ie birth certificates, league boundaries, Medical Releases etc. 6. Manager and Coaches remember to bring proof of your auto insurance and your drivers license to the world series; you will not be issued a courtesy car without proof of auto insurance and a valid drivers license.

EXPECTATIONS AND RULES OF USE ALPENROSE DAIRY Please share this information with your player s parents Alpenrose Dairy is a private business owned by the Cadonau family. This facility is actually located in the Cadonau s backyard. They have graciously donated the use of this beautiful facility for the use of the ball fields for Little League ONLY. These fields are maintained by the staff of Alpenrose Dairy, and we have been asked to enforce some very basic rules. The top of the dugouts on the Main field will be kept clear of ALL items, including people, bags and equipment. Do not climb over the tops of the bleachers, always use the aisles. Both the left and right field lines must remain clear of spectators. Please remain at least 2 feet behind the fences. Parents must take responsibility for watching their children and we are not talking about those on the playing field. Both younger and older siblings must remain within your line of sight throughout the game and not be wandering around unsupervised. If the child is too young to enjoy the game but old enough to wander away from fields, parents are encouraged to find other daycare options. Parents of children found unsupervised on the lower fields, quarter midget track, velodrome or village areas will be warned only once and then asked to leave. No bikes, skateboards, roller skates or blades are allowed at Alpenrose. The only exception to this rule is for those who participate in activities at the Velodrome bike track. There is no smoking allowed near the ball fields. Please use the driveway areas well away from the line of sight of the players on the field. Cars parked near the fire lanes or any other area deemed No Parking will have their vehicle towed with no warning. Please be sure to ask staff if you are unsure about parking areas. It is everyone s responsibility to help pick up garbage after your game. Please do not wait to be asked to help, if everyone picks up their own trash or better yet places it in the receptacles provided we will have clean grounds for everyone to enjoy.

Bad behavior including spectators coaching from the stands or talking to players or coaching staff while the game is in progress is strictly forbidden and will not be tolerated. Do not embarrass your children by being asked to leave the facility. Housing: Players will be housed at the University Place, four players to a room, only.
