2017 US Spirit at the Arnold Sports Festival General Information Page 2 2017 Event Location / Ohio EXPO Center NEW FACILITY! Awards Overview The following is subject to change. Jackets Unless otherwise indicated, ALL divisions are eligible to win jackets. NO MINIMUM SCORE is required. Note: Not eligible for jackets include, but are not limited to; College, Level 6, Adult s, Exhibition s, Tiny and Special Needs divisions. National Champions Winning national champion teams receive a trophy, a National Champion Banner, individual custom Champion Medals for each team member and coach, and National Champion Jackets for most winning teams. Grand Champions A Grand Champion banner will be presented to the top scoring teams in all star levels, and to the overall school and dance team champion. The number of Grand Champions are based on actual entries and could include additional levels or categories. THE ONE Cheer & Dance Finals Championships Bids www.theonefinals.com US Spirit will award bids to all eligible divisions at nationals! THE ONE Championship will be the first to allow teams of all levels and sizes the opportunity to compete at an elite level. The championship is a exciting season ending championship event for All Star, School, Rec, Prep Cheer & Dance s. The top three teams in each division receive bids. Columbus Rotary Scholarship The top as selected by the panel of judges receives a $2,500.00 College Scholarship from the Columbus Rotary and the Arnold Sports Festival. The award will be presented to the winner by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Spectator Tickets / Daily EXPO Ticket The most popular ticket to the Arnold Sports Festival is the Daily EXPO Ticket, which cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door. The Daily EXPO Ticket offers admission to the Arnold Fitness EXPO and most other sports and events at the Greater Columbus Convention Center and the Ohio Expo Center. Also included in the Daily EXPO Tickets are Arnold Classic 212, Fitness International and Figure International prejudging; Arnold Amateur Men s Bodybuilding, Women s Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure & Bikini finals that are held on the Arnold Fitness EXPO Stage on Friday, March 3, 2017 and Saturday, March 4, 2017. The Daily EXPO Ticket also includes access to the Arnold SportsWorld Kids & Teens EXPO at the Ohio Expo Center, March 4-5, 2017 and the various competitions and events that will be held at the Ohio Expo Center. Daily EXPO Tickets are NOT DATE SPECIFIC. For example, you cannot purchase an EXPO ticket in advance for Friday, March 3. The EXPO ticket you purchase can be used Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Correspondence Upon receipt of registration, the contact person will be sent confirmation. Approximately one week prior to the event, they will receive specific competition information via e-mail. Performance order will be posted on-line a few days prior to the competition. On Time Registration Due Date Entry fees are due with registration by February 15, 2017 to avoid late fees. It is recommended the person responsible for the registration confirm receipt of materials with US Spirit. Payment Check, Amex, Visa, or Mastercard. Make checks payable to US Spirit. Cashiers check or credit card will be the only form of payment accepted after February 15, 2017. Please note that all credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing charge. Registration Acceptance & Late Registration Registration is accepted on a space available basis only. If the event fills to capacity prior to the listed deadlines, registration will not be accepted. Incomplete registration materials will not be processed and will result in teams not being registered. If space is available, late registration will be accepted after the designated deadlines by sending in the total amount due. If registering late, full payment must be submitted in the form of a cashiers check or credit card. The standard cancellation policy will apply to all late registrations. While every effort will be made to forward information prior to the event, US Spirit is not responsible for missed communication or misunderstanding due to late registration. Division Changes NO division changes are permitted after coaches receive a preliminary schedule. If you have entered an incorrect division, or your squad has changed a level, you may make fax changes to 614-865-1289 or e-mail the change to usspiritevents@aol.com. The sender is responsible for making sure the change request was received. Division changes can not be accepted via phone. US Spirit reserves the right to add, change or delete divisions as well as move to teams to the appropriate divisions or based on USASF All Star guidelines. No guarantee is made that teams will have other teams to compete against in any particular division. In the case of oneteam divisions, you will be contacted and options discussed such as; combining divisions, changing levels, etc. Any changes remain the exclusive right of US Spirit and may be made at any time and at the discretion of the tournament director without a teams prior knowledge. Registration & Check-in Times Coaches or team contacts as designated on the registration form are required to pickup wrist bands, schedules, and additional information at Competition venue during the following times: Subject to change Friday, March 3 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Saturday, March 4 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Sunday, March 5 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Competitor Release Forms Every competitor must have a Release Form. The form must be signed by the appropriate parent or legal guardian. ALL forms must turned in at the US Spirit Registration Table PRIOR to receiving wrist bands. US Spirit will NOT release individual wrist bands. Cancellation Policy: The following applies to cancellations: A full refund will be made for written cancellations received by US Spirit at least 31 days prior to the date of the competition. Cancellations after that date for any reason, including medical or family reasons, weather, hotel cancellations or any other reason are subject to the following per person cancellation fees. Before January 30: Full Refund February 1-13: 50% Refund After February 14: No Refund Cancellations must be faxed or emailed Fax:614-865-1289. US Spirit is not responsible for faxes not received. Sender must call to confirm receipt of the fax or get an email confirmation if the cancellation is emailed. All cancellations must be received during business hours 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST. Cancellations received after 5:00 pm EST will be dated the following business day.

Cheer Routines may not exceed (2:30) two minutes and 30 seconds. Dance Routines are all music and may not exceed (2:15) two minutes and 15 seconds. Emphasis is placed on proper technical execution, extension, control, body placement and team uniformity. POM Poms must be used 80% of the routine. Important characteristics of a pom routine include synchronization and visual effect, clean and precise motions, strong pom technique, and incorporate dance technical elements. Visual effect includes level changes, group work, formation changes, etc. HIP HOP Routines emphasize the street style movements with an emphasis on execution, style, creativity, body isolations and control, rhythm, uniformity and musical interpretation. s may also put an additional focus on athletic incorporations such as jumps, jump variations, combo jumps and other tricks. 2017 Championship Release, Waiver & Agreement for Appearance Page 11 Every competitor must complete a release form and have coach turn it in at the competition registration table : Participant As utilized below, the term Arnold Cheer & Dance Championships shall be defined as Arnold Sports Festival, Arnold Classic, Arnold Weekend, Arnold EXPO, US Spirit Championships, any of its/their related, affiliated or subsidiary companies and officers, directors, employees, agents and assigns of each of the foregoing, and the term US Spirit shall be defined as US Spirit Corp., or its officers, directors, employees, agents and assigns. Either for myself or I/we, the below signed parent(s)/legal guardian(s) of the individual participant listed below, (hereinafter minor ), hereby agree to assume full responsibility for the payment of all debts incurred by myself or the minor during my/his/her visit to Arnold Sports Festival and to reimburse the event for any damages suffered by US Spirit and Arnold Sports Festival due to acts of the minor during that visit. I/we hereby waive for myself/ourselves and on behalf of the minor any claims or causes of action for death, personal injury, property damage or otherwise (whether or not resulting from the negligence of US Spirit) which he/she or I/we may now have or hereafter have against US Spirit arising out of the minor s visit to the Event or his/her participation in the cheerleading /dance activities on March 3-5, 2017 (the Event ), including, without limitation, all claims or causes of action for death, personal injury, property damage or otherwise resulting from the risks inherent in cheerleading / dance, including, without limitation, falls. I/we further agree to defend, indemnify and hold US Spirit, harmless from and against all claims, judgements, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including, without limitation, attorneys fees and costs) asserted against Arnold Sports Festival and/or US Spirit, by such minor or any other party or suffered by Arnold Sports Festival and/or US Spirit, arising out of death, personal injury, property damage or otherwise suffered by the minor during the minor s visit to the Arnold Sports Festival and/or from cheerleading/dance activities in which the minor participates during his/her visit including without limitation, death, personal injury, property damage or other loss resulting from the negligence of Arnold Sports Festival or US Spirit. I/we authorize Arnold Sports Festival and/or US Spirit to procure, at my/our expense, any medical care reasonably required by the minor during his/her visit at hospitals or facilities chosen by the Arnold Sports Festival Medical Staff and/or US Spirit. I/we acknowledge that Arnold Sports Festival and/or US Spirit is not responsible for supervising the minor. I/we hereby grant Arnold Sports Festival and/or US Spirit the right to photograph and/or video tape myself or my minor and further utilize the my or the minor s name, face, likeness, voice and appearance in connection with exhibitions, publicity, advertising and promoting materials without reservation or limitation. In granting this license, I/we understand that Arnold Sports Festival nor US Spirit is under no obligation to exercise any of its rights, licenses and privileges herein granted by myself/minor. Further, I represent that any medication to which the minor is allergic or is currently taking is listed below and will ensure that minor brings such medication with him/her to the Arnold Sports Festival and that participant is responsible for consuming the prescribed dosage.
