ABOUT NCTA Driving the Growth of North Carolina s Tech Industry Founded in 1993, the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) is a 501 (c) (6) not-for-profit association focused on advancing the state s tech industry. NCTA has 750+ member companies, organizations and institutions representing more than 150,000 North Carolina based employees. NCTA has three main focus areas: Executive Engagement: Connecting Technology Providers, Consumers and Stakeholders NCTA brings together executives around the business of technology for peer interaction, educational programming, information share, relationship building and networking. We host a lineup of executivelevel programming from large events to small peer meetings across the state. Members help drive the content of our programming and can participate as an attendee, speaker, exhibitor and sponsor based on interest. Public Affairs: Providing the Voice for the Technology Industry NCTA is the go-to organization for policy makers on issues affecting the tech sector. Our public affairs efforts are guided by three principles: build relationships, educate on issues and craft and advocate forward-thinking policy. We champion legislation that provides a favorable tax and regulatory environment, encourages new ventures, and grows knowledge-based jobs in North Carolina. Members help develop the public policy agenda, host an annual Tech Day at the Legislature, and participate in sessions with state and federal officials. Knowledge Workforce: Promoting Lifelong Learning and a World-class Workforce NCTA supports the development of world-class, well-educated students and workers to make NC a hub for globally competitive companies. We provide content rich business and technology programming for employees of member organizations. Members have access to workforce and talent related discussions, information and resources. NCTA impacts K-20 education through initiatives to promote and enhance the state s technology and educational opportunities. We also support and encourage member participation in programs to attract more students into the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) curricula. SIGNATURE EVENTS Annual events bringing together hundreds of leaders, innovators and influencers OUTLOOK for IT 2015 ANNUAL MEETING & TECH EXPO OUTLOOK FOR IT January 30 Hilton Charlotte Center City Jump-start your year and join more than 400 biz and tech leaders to learn about the tech trends that will lead the way in 2015. This fast-paced luncheon and tech expo features a Gartner keynote briefing on IT spend and trends; an Employment Outlook on IT jobs and the state s talent pool; the first reveal of NCTA s State of Technology Industry Report; introduction to new NCTA leadership and preview of the year s programming. STATE OF TECHNOLOGY May 15 Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Convention Center Durham Nearly 500 executives from across sectors and functional roles will gather at our flagship technology conference for a day of engaging keynotes, interactive panel sessions and an exhibit area. This year will focus on how the integration of technology is driving business transformation. With the proper combination of analytics, cloud, mobile, social and security technologies, you can create information-based insights and decisions that will better serve your clients and grow your business. The event will also feature a startup showcase, where early stage tech companies will demo some of their latest innovations. GOLF TOURNAMENT August 13 Grandover Resort & Conference Center Greensboro Enjoy a day on the green with over 150 regional leaders for a round of fun and networking. The captain s choice tournament format is suitable for players of all skill levels. The day includes breakfast, lunch, prizes, contests and culminates with an awards reception. LEADERSHIP RETREAT August 13-14 Grandover Resort & Conference Center Greensboro A favorite of many, this retreat is presented by the NCTA Board of Directors and Advisors. NC TECH AWARDS GALA November 12 Raleigh Convention Center The highlight of the year is the awards gala focused on recognizing and honoring the best innovators and innovations. Awards are given to recognize companies, use of technology and individuals. This capstone event, our largest gathering of the year, includes a reception, dinner and awards ceremony.

AD HOC EVENTS ONLINE EXECUTIVE AUCTION Going once, going twice secure a meeting with an executive by being the winning bidder. From time to time, online auctions are held to give members the chance at guaranteed one-on-one meetings with CIOs and CEOs. Proceeds support NCTA programming, including our scholarship fund. SPORTING, ENTERTAINMENT & COMMUNITY EVENTS NCTA organizes social, sporting, cultural and outreach events for members. COMMUNITIES Members connect around a commonality INTEREST NETWORKS Members sharing a common interest meet in person and connect virtually to stay informed and build relationships. Cyber Security Network is for members interested in sharing information about mitigating IT security risks. Topics covered include fraud, cloud, mobile devices, identity management and protection of sensitive data. Government Vendor Network is for members to discuss how technology is procured and deployed in state government. Members can dialogue with senior state officials and policy makers on challenges they face, and how technology might provide solutions in efficiency and cost reduction. Knowledge Workforce Network is for members interested in education and workforce priorities ranging from current talent demands, to curriculum in schools and promoting careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Mobility Network is for members interested in mobile and wireless technology. Topics covered include collaboration technologies, consumerization, app development, device management, data security, wearable technologies and more. PEER NETWORKS Executives with similar functional roles meet in person and connect virtually to gain insight from peers and build relationships. CIO Peer2Peer is exclusive to CIOs (IT Leaders with enterprise responsibility) to exchange information and best practices. IT leaders gather for roundtable sessions hosted by Cisco utilizing TelePresence technology. Session topics are selected and moderated by participating CIOs. CEO Peer2Peer is exclusive to CEOs/founders of NC headquartered tech companies to exchange information and best practices. Peer groups are organized by entity size to foster discussion at various stages of company maturity. Small company CEOs convene online via web-conferencing and mid-large company CEOs gather for roundtable discussions hosted by Cisco utilizing TelePresence. Sessions facilitated by NCTA with topics selected by participating CEOs. LEADERSHIP NETWORKS Members committed to strengthening NCTA while building their professional networks. Ambassadors are seasoned members who help grow and promote NCTA by sharing their perspective on the value of membership and engagement with prospective members while helping make new members feel welcome. Board of Advisors are leaders from within our membership who provide insight and advice during the year. In return, Advisors gain added visibility and recognition in a variety of ways. Participation is limited to one seat per member organization and includes a fee in addition to your regular membership dues. NORTH CAROLINA STATE OF TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY REPORT (NCSTIR) NEW NCTA has embarked on the compilation of a State of Technology Industry Report, to be revealed in 2015 and annually thereafter. This internet radio show will explore how policy, talent and engagement drive the success of tech sector and its impact on North Carolina s economy. Each show will feature local leaders discussing the technologies and trends that impact their company and the industry. NCTA 101 Learn more about NCTA activities, online resources and ways to maximize your membership on this interactive web conference, held monthly. Open to existing and prospective members. MARKETING TOOLKIT Tools in the Marketing Toolkit provide members a number of ways to display and promote membership affiliation, engage employees and build awareness and company visibility. PUBLIC AFFAIRS PORTAL A central location for public affairs related documents, tools and information. RFP PORTAL Technology purchasers will, periodically, ask NCTA to distribute Request for Proposals (RFPs) to vendors in North Carolina. We use the RFP portal as the means to communicate these opportunities to our members. TALENT PORTAL The portal directs visitors to NCTA s employment resources including the NCTA Job Board and information on upcoming COME TECH OUT Job Fairs. NCTA JOB BOARD An easy-to-use and highly targeted online tool for connecting companies looking for talent and technology professionals looking for career advancement. Members post for free and have access to job seeker resumes. COME TECH OUT JOB FAIRS Showcase employment opportunities and connect with top talent across functional areas and levels of expertise. MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION Because technology is integral to any enterprise, membership is open to all companies, organizations and institutions. The membership categories are defined below please select the category which best represents your organization. Membership is organization wide so all employees have access to member benefits. Annual dues are based on the total number of full-time North Carolina employees for Technology and Associate Members or full-time North Carolina IT employees for Technology Consumer and Affiliate Members.
