For more information about the Cloud and the latest announcements, visit http://gowyld.net/econtent/cloudlibrary/ Getting Started *You must have a WYLD library card and PIN Contact your local library if you do not know your PIN or need to get a library card. Go to http://ebook.3m.com/ to download the reading apps or browse the collection at http://ebook.3m.com/library/wyominglibraries/ For the best experience, you should install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer (if transfering to devices) and register a personal Adobe ID Help with Adobe IDs is available on the GoWYLD website at http://gowyld.net/econtent/adobe.html 3M will detect an existing Adobe ID on a PC or device and will use it by default. If there is no Adobe ID, then 3M will provide one. This ID can interfere with registered devices, so it is still best to use a personal Adobe ID. New devices may need to be activated with Adobe Digital Editions and an Adobe ID to work properly.
Installing the PC or Mac Software Go to http://ebook.3m.com/ and click on the button for the PC or Mac App. This opens a page with more specifications about the software, including supported operating systems, readers, memory and more. Click on Download App then choose to save the file and run the install program when the download is complete. During the installation you will need to select the US, the state of Wyoming and Wyoming libraries. Enter your library card and PIN. Your library card must be current and in good standing to complete this process. You will need to agree to the End User License Agreement. Once the application has been installed, a desktop shortcut will appear labeled 3M Cloud Library.
Using the PC Software Navigation The application has five tabs. Featured, Browse, Search, My Books, and ebook (once a book is checked out and being read) The Featured view shows a selection of books in popular categories. To see more in the collection, click on the browse button to browse categories or use the search tab. The Featured view: Clicking on Show all makes it easy to see the availability of each book. Clicking on any book on the shelf will open a popup window with additional information. If a book is available, the green Borrow button will appear. If it is not available, you may place a hold. You may also click on the similar books tab to see books like this one. The similar books feature may include books that are not owned in the collection. Users can also create a wish list that library staff can view to help make purchasing decisions.
The Browse tab groups books by subject areas based on publisher supplied information. You can view all in a category or keep clicking on the subcategories shown until a list view appears. Limit the browse view to books that are available for checkout by clicking on the Filter button and selecting Available Now. Sort lists of books by clicking on the Sort By option in any list view. (Sort by title, author, rating, and date order)
The SEARCH tab is a keyword only search. Search results are presented in List View. Limit search results to titles that are available by clicking on the Filter button and selecting Available Now. Remember to change this option back if you want to see the entire results list. The MY BOOKS tab will show all the books you have checked out and those that you have on hold in a bookshelf view (you can also switch to a list view). To see all your bookmarks and notes for a particular book, click on the lowercase i from the menu options on the EBooks tab. You can manage bookmarks from the detailed book information level or delete individual bookmarks from the page view.
