Recent works Currently PSM experts develop the following tasks: Publications and articles about grid and power devices at sea. Initial contacts with the major technology suppliers (Siemens, ABB) concerning offshore wind farms and sea grids. Analysis of the first location concept of the offshore wind farm connection at sea (SwePol II construction with offshore wind farm connection). Analysis and developing of HV DC offshore wind farms connection concept to the National Grid with omitting the Transmission Grid at the north part of Poland. 10
The first offshore wind farm connection concept The initial analysis indicates that in case of the possible construction of the second (parallel to the existing) SwePoll II link to Sweden, it would be feasible to install on it the first offshore wind farm connection. In such configuration the power from the offshore farm could be directed to the Polish National Grid and / or to the export. According to PSM the construction of SwePol II and the first offshore connection would be much easier due to the location of the new line as parallel to the existing SwePol I. The location concept of the first offshore connection on the existing SwePol I line, which is possible, is not considered. 11
Polish participation in offshore sector: power devices outside Polish economic zone Transformer platform for Nysted offshore wind farm (Denmark) realised by Energomontaż-Północ Gdynia Sp. z o.o. 12
Polish participation in offshore sector: power devices outside Polish economic zone Transformer platform for Lillgrund offshore wind farm (Sweden) realised by Mostostal Chojnice S.A. 13
Summary The dynamic development of the offshore wind energy sector in Europe and the concepts of the European offshore cross-border power grids system supported by the European Union indicate, that in the near perspective Poland will enlarge the National Power Transmission System with new subsea connections and cross-border transmission cable lines located in the marine areas. 14
Summary Polish Offshore Grid SA, as the engineering company founded by a group of experienced companies from the energy and consulting sector, provides services in preparation, design and construction of the power transmission systems of the offshore wind farms and any other necessary cable connections and electrical devices at sea. 15
Summary By combining the unique specialist experience and knowledge of its shareholders, Polish Offshore Grid SA offers the comprehensive services to investors in preparation of the necessary electric infrastructure of the offshore wind farm projects and the connection of the offshore wind farms located in the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone to the National Power Transmission System. 16
