We are all very excited about this event. Please remember it is a requirement that you print out your tickets for entry to the Frankston Art Centre. You are not just able to show ushers your ticket on your phones. If you happen to forget your ticket on the night, please just go to the box office and they will assist you. Also another handy hint is to pre order food and drinks before the show for you to quickly pick up at interval. This is done at the bar prior to the show commencing and is so easy to do. I would like to say a huge thank you to Peter Martin for all his work and assistance with this year s concert. His experience, passion and expertise in this area has been wonderful. Di Hook has directed this performance this year and has done a wonderful job. Narrissa Wheatley has assisted Di this year and again we are very thankful to have these people leading the school in this area. I would also like to thank all the children and staff as they have come up with all the items themselves this year for a very child centred production. We hope you all enjoy the show I am very proud of all their efforts. Sausage sizzle Many thanks to Fiona for organising such a successful sausage sizzle on Friday at Aaron Park. The team of Fiona s son James, Illona Brzezowski, Nicky Simpson and Jenny Lewis raised $850 profit for the kitchen. Thank you so much to all of these people for donating their time to assist the school. Sun hats A reminder that hats need to be worn at all times when outside from September the 1 st. Remember, UV cannot be seen or felt. It s not like the sun s light which we can see or the sun s warmth that we feel. Our senses cannot detect UV so it can be damaging us without knowing. Face book Just to let you know our Facebook account is an open page so anyone can access this, although restrictions have been made to make it more secure. This has been done very deliberately as this is the only way we can control posts on this page. The way we have set this up means that no posts can be put on this page without administrator s approval....continued next page
Continued from previous page. If we had set this up as a Facebook group rather than a page, then posts and comments can be made without administrator approval and as you can imagine this can become complicated and sometimes inappropriate. If you are not happy for your child to have their work or photo posted on our Tooradin Primary School Facebook page, and you have already signed the consent form, just let the classroom teacher know and they will revoke the permission form and shred this for you. We set this page up with the intention of communicating with parents and sharing special occasions therefore if you like our page then you will get notifications if we post anything. Tiqbiz is still our first means of communication with parents as this is just to our select school community, however our Facebook page is there as another means to communicate and share school events with our community. If you have any questions around this please don t hesitate to contact me. - Zania Cope Tooradin Dalmore Football & Netball Club 2ND HAND UNIFORM FOR SALE EVERY 2ND MONDAY @ 2:30pm LOCATED IN GYM OFFICE. $5 EACH ITEM Next Sale 5/9/16 TOORADIN JUNIOR CRICKET CLUB The first practise and registration for the this season will be held at the cricket nets at the Tooradin Recreation Reserve on Wednesday 7th September 2016 from 4.30pm to 6.15pm Age groups will be under 10, under 12 and under 14. T This week we explored how to make a meal when there is nothing in the fridge. We had leftover onions and eggs, as well as bread from our most successful sausage sizzle last Friday, as well as some odds and ends of different cheeses, some milk, dates and butter. So we made delicious French onion soup (there were a few fume induced tears) with cheese and herb dumplings and followed up with a dessert of bread and butter pudding with dates instead of the usual sultanas. It was a pretty good meal considering it was using up leftovers. On Friday we were lucky enough to run a barbecue for a local clearing sale, and with most ingredients donated or sold at a discount (thanks to Central Park Meats for the sausages, Coles for bread and Pearcedale egg farm for eggs) we made a whopping profit of $810 for the kitchen. Thanks go to Illona Brzezowski, Nicky Simpson, Jenny Lewis and my son James for their hard work in making this such a success. Congratulations to cooking student of the week, Alex Day. Alex is a quiet achiever who does an amazing job in cooking, paying careful attention to detail and undertaking all tasks in a willing and cheerful fashion. Well done Alex! Next week we will be having a breakfast menu, exploring healthy options that can be whipped up before school, or on weekends for a delicious brunch. Sounds like fun! We will also be having potato and leek soup on Wednesday, $2 a cup and add a roll for 50c. This can be ordered on Qkr or orders can be handed in at the office before Tuesday afternoon. This will be the last soup day for the year - Kitchen Specialist Fiona Bee Footy Day this is on Friday 16th September, the last day of Term 3. Students are encouraged to come in their favourite footy team colours, whatever code, or to give you a few suggestions:- dressed as an umpire, cheer leader, spectator or even a pie seller! Cost will be $2.00 to dress up..students will also be able to order a hot dog lunch - $4 for a hot dog and drink which can be ordered next week on Qkr next week.
