Travel to Munich Upon arrival the group will clear customs, claim your luggage and be transferred to the Hotel Torbrau, Munich s oldest hotel dating back to 1490. The Hotel Torbrau is a fully modernized, lovingly restored building in an excellent location at the gateway to the Old Town. (Flight arrangements to be confirmed at a later date.) May 20

22 Dachau Concentration Camp & Munich 1972 Olympic Stadium This fully guided tour will take you inside the infamous Dachau concentration camp where thousands of Jews and politicals were held and executed by the Nazi regime. Visit the memorial and museum, and view photographs, documents and reconstructed cell blocks. This afternoon we visit the Olympic Stadium, site of the 1972 Olympics and the site where Israeli athletes were killed by Palestinian terrorists. Return to your hotel late afternoon. The rest of the evening is free to explore and enjoy dinner. Following the guided tour the group will have lunch on your own.
23 Neuschwanstein Castle & Linderhof Castle Neuschwanstein Castle was commissioned as the private refuge for Ludwig II of Bavaria, but opened to the public immediately after his death in 1886. Now recognizable as the inspiration for Disney s Sleeping Beauty Castle, Neuschwanstein is one of the most popular castles in Europe. The fairytale charm of Neuschwanstein Castle is also felt from the idyllic scenery of the Bavarian Alps. During the winter, some of the best views of the snowcapped mountains can be seen from the palace grounds. Following the tour of Neuschwanstein, the group will eat lunch on your own. This afternoon we tour Linderhof Castle, home of King Ludwig II. Linderhof Palace is a Schloss in Germany, in southwest Bavaria near Ettal Abbey. It is the smallest of the three palaces built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one which he lived to see completed. Following the tour you will be transported back to your hotel. The evening is free to explore on your own and have dinner.

26 Salzburg, Austria & Berchtesgaden Germany Salzburg is an Austrian city on the German border, with views of the Eastern Alps. It s known as the birthplace of Mozart and setting for the film The Sound of Music. The city is divided by the Salzach River, with medieval and baroque buildings of the pedestrian Altstadt (Old City) on its left bank, and 19th-century Neustadt (New City) on the right. Your guide will show you many of this city s famous sites. (This is a guided tour only. Entrance to sites seen on this tour is not included.) Enjoy lunch after your tour on your own. This afternoon we travel to Berchtesgaden, Germany. Explore this charming little mountain town, along with the remains of the Nazi stronghold on the Obersalzberg, the Eagles s Nest and Hitler s Berghof. Return to your Munich hotel where you will enjoy free time and dinner this evening.
27 Nuremburg, Germany Between 1945 and 1946, German officials involved in war crimes and crimes against humanity were brought before an international tribunal in the Nuremberg trials. The Soviet Union had wanted these trials to take place in Berlin. However, Nuremberg was chosen as the site for the trials. This tour will include a visit to the Justizpalast (Memorium) including room 600. Following the tour we will stop for lunch. This afternoon the visit the stadium where many of the Nazi rallies were held.
