Minimum of 5 years of experience with the listed radio systems Education: Associate s Degree or higher from a regionally accredited University or College Security Clearance: Secret US Citizenship Required Sawdey Solution Services is seeking a person to provide radio operation and maintenance support for approximately 6 classes and 60 students attending the AOC FTU Initial Qualification Training for ICOs. The contractor shall maintain line-of-sight, Satellite Communications (SATCOM), remote radio equipment, virtual and simulated radio equipment (Distributed Voice), and various forms of radio interfacing equipment. The contractor shall also ensure functionality of equipment to include installation, operation, normal preventative maintenance and testing, proper storage and/or the return of defective items to the manufacturer for higher-level maintenance or replacement. The contractor shall coordinate with local and distant entities to affect troubleshooting outages, equipment malfunctions; ensure problem resolution via the CFP and ensure resolution of all issues. The contractor shall conduct and document preventive maintenance inspections and equipment status IAW applicable AF regulations and guidance.. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide operations and maintenance of assorted data link equipment; configure and maintain all cryptographic data link equipment. Provide AOC Interface Control maintenance support; configure and maintain all data link equipment and systems including, but not limited to: Link-16 Front End System (FES), Joint Range Extension (JRE), Link Management System, Multi-TADIL (LMS-MT), Data Terminal Set (DTS), Joint Tactical/Multifunctional Information Distribution System (JTIDS/MIDS) Terminal, Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI), KG-40A encryption devices and associated COMSEC keying material.
Installs and configures Keyboard-Video-Mouse (KVM) and associated cables and equipment required to connect internal network for ICO course. Installs, maintains, and configures Serial Patch panels required for internal data link connectivity. Perform operations and maintenance on a variety of HF, VHF, UHF, and SATCOM radios; including but not limited to, UHF SATCOM and UHF Demand Access Multiple Assignment (DAMA) operations. Installs and configures SATCOM radio terminals and antennas. Installs and configures HF, VHF, UHF radio components and antennas. Analyzes processes and problems relative to the design of systems and develops and recommends corrective action. Plans, coordinates, and installs applications software and hardware for datalink equipment and operating systems, and workstations specifically supporting Interface Control Operations training at the 505 TRS AOC FTU. Optimizes the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems and ensures availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of equipment. Plans projects, evaluates and manages the development of new and existing equipment. Reviews system specifications, planning, requirement documentation, and cost factors to ensure needs are properly identified, considered, and constructed within budgetary restraints. Runs tests to verify operability and functionality; analyzes hardware and software malfunctions to resolve physical and logical processing problems; and recommends acquisition of programs or equipment which will resolve operational problems. Provides on-going optimization and problem solving support; continually surveys system operation to identify potential systems problems which could lead to loss or serious interruption of service. Initiates corrective or preventative measures to rectify immediate problems and prevent future ' occurrences. Troubleshoots and diagnoses system failures to isolate source of problems. Performs testing, troubleshoots, and corrects problems relative to interface and interoperability of system components such as hardware, systems software, and applications programs. Provide proactive consultation and instruction with system users to ensure seamless implementation of changes. Develops proposals and keeps abreast of technological advances to ensure continued optimum service Evaluates existing automated and datalink systems and analyzes functionality in the organizational environment Determines the relative merit of equipment so that the organization's immediate business needs are met and ensures it will be compatible with future systems and equipment.
Plans, develops, and implements enhancements which will improve the user's capability in meeting business requirements and optimize their response time in meeting objectives Prepares recommendations that allow for design of systems to meet organizational needs and provides technical guidance to users to enable them to accept or reject them Ensures enhancements are compatible with existing infrastructure and coordinates with other base agencies to ensure compliance standards are met Evaluates organization system use of programs to determine effectiveness of applications and recommends changes in procedures or methods of use to enhance productivity. Install, upgrade, integrate, and maintain both classified and unclassified desktops, portable computing devices, and approved peripherals; includes LAN-based and standalone computers in accordance with established host base configuration management and security procedures; provide computer support for new and existing personnel moves and migration to new systems and changes directed by higher authorities; coordinate with Equipment Custodians to dispose of obsolete systems; coordinate classified (SIPRNET) and unclassified (NIPRNET) user accounts: resolve trouble tickets.
