Teaching, learning and assessment - are you being challenged by Ofsted? The new Ofsted Common Inspection Framework launched September 2012 places an increasing emphasis on the quality of teaching, learning and assessment. To be outstanding, the Common Inspection Framework requires that: High quality learning materials and resources including information and communication technology (ICT) are available and used by staff and learners during and between learning and assessment sessions. Our interactive resources help to provide a pedagogical approach embedded in a learner centred system which promotes feedback and independent tracking. The tools and resources we have created are relevant for use with all awarding bodies. We will work with you to ensure that it meets all of the requirements of the specific awarding bodies you use.

The Holistic Learner Journey We have simplified our solution into five key products: The full apprenticeship journey is illustrated below. However, learners usually move between levels flexibly as they progress towards the conclusion of their apprenticeship. Similarly, training providers and colleges are able to support their delivery by choosing to mix and match elements of our tools and resources at any level. Sophisticated pre-recruitment and screening tools Prior to the start of the apprenticeship process, we can help you through the recruitment and initial assessment stages. This range of tools provides a flexible choice of options to meet your specific requirements. Following self-registration, a range of questions helps build a profile of the potential apprentice: Eligibility Suitability for vacancies Apprenticeship profile Learning Style Aptitude Tests Functional skills screeners IT Confidence Upload your documents Personality Profile We can also provide sector-specific Aptitude Tests, including: Engineering Manufacturing Health and Social Care Customer Service Retail Business Administration Hospitality Rail engineering Abstract reasoning Numerical reasoning Spatial awareness Early years Cookery Warehousing These resources allow you to develop a strong understanding of the applicant prior to the apprenticeship, to help: Identify the vacancy Identify the entry level Detect the applicant s preferred style of learning Recognise the applicant s personality traits Identify the applicant s functional skills level Reduce paperwork and administration The best recruitment screening package in the marketplace. Prue Day, Vision West Nottinghamshire College

The pre-recruitment and screening assessment journey The diagram below illustrates a typical applicant journey when using our pre-recruitment and screening tools. We will work with you to ensure these bespoke tools meet your organisation s needs. Throughout the journey there are filters to identify ineligible applicants, notifications to provide IAG to applicants and profilers to show applicants how they have scored in the assessments. The tools offer a cost-effective and efficient approach to pre-screening applicants to your organisation. The candidate applies for a vacancy as normal NAS Sales Force Your Website Candidate visits your branded Learner Management System and completes a short questionnaire to determine whether they are suitable for an apprenticeship. The candidate creates a unique user name and password. Contact details will be captured for future use once the candidate has submitted the form. The candidate is directed to your website which contains more information about the available role. Candidate then applies via your website and is directed to your branded self-registration page. Aprenticeship Suitability Eligibility Assessment The system will automatically filter eligible candidates so that they can continue with the recruitment process. Ineligible candidates will be informed. If the candidate is ineligible to become an apprentice they will be informed via a message which will also provide a number they can call for more information. If eligible, the candidate continues with the recruitment and initial assessment tools.
