Job description Purpose of role and key deliverables To provide a high quality HR service to all staff and support to line managers on their people management responsibilities. To support the Head of HR on a range of strategic HR activity and policy work. Key tasks and responsibilities 1. To support line managers on recruitment activity and to champion a revised recruitment process. 2. To undertake the administration and processes necessary to ensure a proactive, customer focused, high quality and effective HR service. To improve existing procedures where necessary and to ensure these processes remain user friendly and efficient. nsuring all paperwork and data is accurate and effectively stored in line with data protection and for clear access. 3. To work with the Head of HR to advise managers in the role as line manager and as they carry out people management responsibilities. Support the Head of HR to develop their people management abilities through regular meetings, line manager workshops and other initiatives. 5. Support the Head of HR with the implementation of a new training plan and performance management cycle for the charity. 6. Support the Head of HR in the ongoing review and development of HR policies, procedures and processes. Keep up to date with external developments in HR practice and employment to inform changes to policy and procedure and for use as appropriate when advising line managers. 7. To be active in supporting the development and maintenance of a culture that promotes equality and values diversity, through implementation of appropriate systems and communication with staff. 8. Support the Head of HR with ongoing work related to staff engagement and services around staff care and benefits. 9. Ideally some experience of advising managers on HR policy or procedure CIPD qualified or working towards this with the overall understanding of the work of modern HR and how to apply the relevant theory and best practice into day to day work. General understanding of key elements of employment law and the way it impacts on day to day HR activity and it s implications on broader strategic considerations Professional commitment to the principles of diversity and equality of opportunity with a practical understanding of how these affect the work of HR.
